Binoculars for Astronomy

Focus on our nearest neighbor

You don't have to use an astronomical telescope to view the night sky. A binocular can provide views of moon craters, star clusters, and even bright galaxies and nebulae, such as the Andromeda Galaxy and Orion Nebula. When it comes to observing comets with beautiful tails, a binocular is the tool of choice.

Big binoculars for big fun

Amateur astronomers typically use binoculars with front objective lenses of 50mm or more. A good quality binocular in this size range can deliver better images than a 60mm discount-store telescope! But don't underestimate the usefulness of compact binoculars for nighttime viewing. If you already own a pair, take a look. Compact binoculars gather roughly nine times the light you see with the unaided eye!
