I ordered this tripod even though I already have a Swarovski tripod, because the original will not fit in a carry-on suitcase. This tripod will fit nicely. It appears slightly less sturdy, the leg diameters are smaller, but it performs quite nicely with my scope and camera and 400 mm lens. It has a carry strap that I will not use to carry it, but will use to put around the scope so that as I switch from scope to camera, if I slip, the scope will not hit the ground.
