Lightweight Tripod - 01/09/2013

by Nelson . from Bella Vista, Ar

Purchased Manfrotto 190CX3 Carbon Fiber Tripod Legs for the wife for her new spotting scope to keep her spotting scope system under seven pounds. Helping her carry with ease when we are out and about in the field. One of the biggest reasons for purchasing from Eagle Optics is prices competitive with other big online companies. Eagle Optics tells you online that the produce is available and ready to ship or unavailable. Other online companies do not tell you that the item is unavailable until you purchase item. Eagle Optics shipping very fast!

Manfrotto Carbon Tripod - 11/28/2011

by Leslie from Manvel, Texas

A friend recommended this tripod, and I love it. Much lighter than my previous Manfrotto tripod. I will order the tripod head after I get past the holiday spending frenzy. I would definitely recommend to anyone, and Eagle Optics always has the best price.

An excellent tripod for birding - 09/21/2011

by Candy from Houston, Texas

I have an old Manfrotto steel tripod that I have used for years (bought it from Eagle optics too) and I have been totally pleased with it. But for traveling I wanted to move to a lighter tripod. I had originally ordered a swarovski tripod from another vendor and had to return it, due to leg clips not locking. So I went back to what I am familiar with.... Eagle Optics and Manfrotto... and decided on this tripod with the 128 RC micro fluid tripod head. This is excellent!! My current scope is a full size 80mm scope and the tripod supports this easily. The tripod is light weight and still sturdy in the wind, even when digi-scoping. It is shorter than some of the other tripods but I'm 5'-2" so that is not an issue for me. This tripod is good for overseas travel and for all around birding at home. In my opinion this is a great tripod and the fact that it is relatively inexpensive in comparison to other carbon fiber tripods, is just icing on the cake!

190CX3 Carbon Fiber Tripod - 12/27/2010

by Jim McCauley from Flagstaff, AZ.

I purchased the 190CX3 carbon fiber tripod legs for use with a spotting scope. I needed a lighter, more adjustable set up without the coldness of aluminum. This tripod more than "fills the bill." It is the perfect length to fit in a daypack, is very solid, and very adjustable. It is a perfect fit for me.

Nice Lightweight Tripod - 03/30/2010

by Vic Taylor from Grayslake, IL

I wanted to replace my heavy, 4.4 lb Swarovski tripod with a lighter weight one on which to mount my Swarovski ATS 65HD spotting scope. I selected the Manfrotto 190CX3 carbon fiber tripod based on an Audubon magazine article. This reduced the tripod weight by 1/3 to 2.9 lbs representing the significant reduction in carry weight which I was looking for. This seems to be a solid, sturdy tripod.
