Decent Tripod for the Money - 05/01/2013

by Adam W. from Richmond, VA

The tripod is good for the price. It holds my scope plenty steady, but it's not rock solid. I have found some difficulty in getting the tripod to lock on an single spot when zoomed in at 60x. It is prone to drift a little, but that's to be expected at that power. I would recommend this product for those who plan to use it purely for spotting, but I don't think its solid enough for high-quality digiscoping.

as advertised - 01/29/2013

I got this to upgrade my old silver Vortex Pro GT, and both looks and operations are nice improvements. It is all black and looks good with my black scope. It is also lightweight and has a solid feel. The head and flip lever locks operate smoothly. It is just what I wanted for an upgrade and a very nice setup with my Vortex Nomad scope. Rating 5.

Good for the price - 12/05/2012

The tripod is quite sturdy, but I was disappointed that there is some horizontal slack after the head has been locked down. Sometimes I have put a bird in view on my spotting scope for another person to look at, and when they look, the scope has shifted right or left. I can feel the horizontal slack when the handle is tightened, but there doesn't seem to be much vertical movement.

Very nice Tripod - 05/14/2012

Very sturdy tripod, feels great in your hands. The minute you put your hands on this tripod you can feel that it is a good, solid tripod. It only weighs four and a half pounds so not to heavy and for only 150 it is well worth the price. Yet again, another awsome product by Vortex! You will not be disappointed with this tripod.
