Swarovski travel carbon tripod and DH101

my only comment is that, as my first tripod and head, I could have used more "in the box" documentation (weird German/Austrian pictorgraph instructions). I finally figured it out with help with EO videos but even then it took a bit and was not complete (ie. why is there an allen wrench included and how/what loosening or tightening is it used for?) Also was told by one of your associates on the phone that I shouldn't use the the "gravity style" quick set up/repacking (in your tripod videos)as I would have to loosen the legs to the degree that it might slip in use. I would give it a 3.5 but you don't have that option in your ratings chart

Light weight, easy to operate and steady as a rock
Easy to adjust

I have arthritis in my hands. I tried several tripods and heads, and this is the one to get if you have weak or painful hands. The clips on the tripod are large and very easy to open and close [tension is adjustible, too]; by far the easiest to use clips of any tripod I tried. The head has both tension and lock levers for each up/down and scan. The lock levers are easy to use and much easier on my hands than the other scope heads I tried. I can set the tension and then easily lock the head when carrying my scope. I hesitated to pay this much for the kit, but now I'd say this tripod and head are worth every penny.

With the head mounted this tripod collapses to about 24 inches long and will fit inside a standard suitcase for traveling. It's strong, quick to set up and adjust. Lightweight and comfortable to carry in the field. It's expensive but works like a charm.
Exceeded ALL Expectations!!

I got this not cheap Swarovski tripod + head combo from Eagle Optics and I have to say that after a week trip with it I simply love it... VERY lightweight, operable, and tall enough even to look at birds just above your head almost 90 degrees in the canopy... AMAZING piece of gear I got! THANKS Eagle Optics for the superb service as always!

Excellent tripod. VERY durable. I use mine for backpack style hunting and the conditions are less than perfect but this tripod is well worth the money for durability and function.
Lightest full sized tripod out there

First let me say that no tripod is worth $700 dollars. But there is no other tripod kit with this quality and weight at any price. Plus if you are mounting the best scope in the business such as the Swarovski ATM 80HD then you should use the best tripod.
The scope snaps quickly and easily into the head and releases just as quickly. The head is a dream with very fluid movement with adjustable friction with no sticking. The head has nice quick locks for horizontal and vertical movements. If you are concerned about this being too light for some environmental setups, there is a supplied hook that attaches to the bottom of the mast to hang a weight.
One thing to consider is this: The CT travel is slightly shorter than other full size tripods so if you have a straight scope instead of an angled one which will need to be higher, it may not be as steady as other full size tripods. I can't say for sure as I have not tried a straight scope on it but the higher you raise a tripod the shakier it will become.
Bottom line for me is that I like it because it takes full advantage of the lightness of my ATM 80HD to provide a total light weight package that won't wear you down during that nature hike. Total weight with the scope and stay on case is exactly 9 lb. It even includes a nice shoulder strap that works well with the scope attached.
I would have given it 5 stars except for the price.
