A very reasonable price for a beginning birder to pay for excellent equipment. The scope attaches very quickly and easily. Legs extend easily, locking mechanism is secure. At 5.5 lbs(my measurements)it is no problem for an old geezer like me to lug around. Don't even mind if a bird moves around, as the tripod head rotates so effortlessly. Don't leave home without one!

People give great attention to their optics but hardly ever think about the tripod they mount it on. The fluid head and sturdiness of this tripod make it a real improvement to following flying birds and taking the shaking out! Mount a pair of binoculars and you will be amazed at what you had missed before when scanning an area of interest. A good mix of portability and sturdiness.

I recently purchased the Manfrotto 128RC/190XB Tripod Kit sold by Eagle. My very old tripod simply broke apart on me soon after attaching my brand new scope! The new kit was shipped the day ordered and arrived, well packaged, as advertised by overnight mail. The tripod and the head were both already assembled so I only had to attach the two components, which was an easy chore. I really like the ease of modifying leg length to fit difficult terrain, when opening or closing down. The knobs on the head are easily adjusted and lock down securely. I'm finding this kit to be very sturdy, but yet lighter than my previous tripod/head. It's simply a good choice for the money.

The tripod came fully assembled (or so I thought) in the box. There was a mystery screw and nut in the bottom of the packaging and I wondered at the time where it had come from. The first time I used the tripod with my spotting scope, I was very happy. It's durable, steady, sturdy and I love the flip up and down levers on the legs. The 2nd time I used the tripod, a leg fell off and now I realized it was missing a screw and nut! It was an easy fix, a special screwdriver was needed, but it now functions perfectly. I am very happy with it and would highly recommend it although if there's any loose screws in your packaging, I would check out the connections first!

This is a great tripod! The perfect weight so that it's not shaky (I've had it out in ~20mph wind so far and it works great), but not too heavy (I'm a girl and not very strong, so weight was an issue for me with other tripods). Very quick and easy set-up. The lighter weight also seems to help me not pinch my fingers when folding it up (I've pinched them many times in my friend's heavier version). I'm 5'8" with a straight scope and it is plenty tall for me...probably tall enough for someone even over 6'. The head is also great, really smooth movement (great for following gulls in flight at the dump!)

I purchased this tripod/head combination to replace the cheap tripod I was using with my 80mm scope. The difference in quality, ease of use, and stability was evident right out of the box. I subsequently purchased the Manfrotto Anti-twist plate which further improved the viewing quality. I would heartily recommend these products to anyone like myself (novice scope user and I don't digiscope). You will be getting great value for your bucks.

I bought this tripod to replace an older one. The clips on the legs snap easily and it is easy to adjust. The knobs for the tripod mount is easy to adjust and stays in place once tightened. I am satisfied with this stand, it is sturdy, stable, and easy to use. I look forward to testing it's durability this upcoming birding season.

Eagle Optics had a great price on this tripod and sent it to me on a timely basis in excellent condition. I am a professional guide, so I needed to have it in time for an upcoming tour. Eagle Optics did not disappoint. I would recommend Eagle Optics to anyone, and will continue to shop here online for my optic needs.

I finally got around to buying a new tripod from Eagle Optics after suffering with my old one for the last year. It had simply fallen apart.
I've been a Manfrotto fan for a long time and finally settled on the 128RC with 190XB head.
It's a sweet combination - light, very sturdy and the quick release accomodates my scope very well.
I'm extremely happy with this purchase, and especially Eagle Optics - I've shopped with them several times now and have been very happy with their pricing and excellent customer service.

Whether you do photography or birding (I do both) you need confidence in your equipment. This tripod and pan head is classic Manfrotto. It is extremely well built and aesthetically pleasing as well. The finish on all the surfaces speaks of quality. The design is superb in that the release for the tripod plate is well thought out and includes a lock screw as a nice safety feature. The pan head glides smoothly but has a nice firm feel to it so you do not overshoot your object. The legs slide into place and lock crisply and securely.
I am a firm believer in using robust tripods. There is nothing worse than a camera or bird scope shaking in the wind or when you touch the camera or scope. This tripod is substantial in this regard. I recommend that you just buy it and don't look back.
Thanks for the leg work

For a medium to large scope this tripod is ideal and as cheap as you'll find it.
I am very research oriented and spent a long time figuring out which tripod was best suited to my needs. Manfrotto has an excellent website that takes you through a process of all their equipment and narrows down the right products. After all that I came to eagle optics to see if they it and found that they bundle the two pieces together!! They have obviously done their research and are not just randomly selling products.

The Manfrotto 128RC/190XB Tripod was purchased to be used with an 80 mm Spotting Scope. It has proven itself to be stable in helping to produce a stable image at the maximum distance for the scope. Even in windy conditions a hand on top the scope will stablize the image. It is also efficient to extend and the fast mount feature is stable and sure. A pleasure to use and carry.

We just got another tripod as my nephew lost our first one at the Beach 5 miles away at a remote beach. So we missed our stable tripod so much, we had to get another one. It has smooth panning for Hawaiian Monk seal viewing. We can check for injuries with our scope on it easily, view humpback whales.
Even spy on illegal folks approaching our seals. We highly recommend this product, we have for two years now. Our other partner has one and he told us about this awesome product. Worth the money any time. Easy to operate, even for me the old lady and who has cataracts. We love our tripod. BUY ONE NOW!!!

The tripod is great. It is very sturdy and easy to use. The head is extremely smooth and works great with my relatively heavy scope.
The tripod is not as light as its carbon fiber counterpart, but it is a great value for the price and I would highly recommend it.
