Weighing in at only 1.3 lbs, the FH 101 head has a lot to offer. Starting with the fast mount system for convenient attachment of your spotting scope, you will also appreciate the one-handed access to both pan and tilt controls. Smooth tilt and head rotation is easily accomplished with a handle that can be positioned for right or left-handed use. The FH 101 comes with a one-year warranty from Swarovski.

We bought the Tripod kit which included the FH-101 head. Almost from the beginning we had problems. The "steering handle" kept falling out because the retaining mechanism doesn't work. The head cannot be locked in the horizontal position and slips in the vertical position. We were informed that Swarovski cannot repair it because the "parts come from Austria", but would sell us the upgraded DH-101. I would recommend trying another tripod head!!

I looked at a couple of these when they first arrived on the scene. The most accurate description I can think of is extremely overpriced junk. This head felt cheap and had way too much movement even when locked down. If it had a brand name other than Swaro it would be $45, not $325.

Perhaps it has been improved since I looked at it, but it looks the same and had the same model #.

I have used this tripod head for a couple of years and am sold on its ease of use. Better than that is the service you receive from Swarovski. They know what customer support is all about!
