I've used a lot of refractor scopes over the years and several spotting scopes and many camera lenses, so I know what I want and what's not good. This is Not Good! Chromatic abberation, purple fringing. It's Terrible. Purple fringing on everything. Edges of buildings, trees, animals, birds, grass! Even in Low Contrast Shaded areas! I cannot believe just how bad this scope is. I thought Barska and NcStar were bad, but they look good compared to this!

The overall fit & finish was poor also. The 2 sections of the scope are loose and if you tighten them, the adjustment ring for focus will freeze up, so you have to deal with the rattle and overall feeling like it's going to fall apart. The front hood sticks and scratches the body when you extend it. Overall the scope is dark and hard to focus. If you change the magnification, you have to refocus. You can't use it past 30x or it becomes soft and has no definition. You can't use it in low light, because it doesn't gather evough light to even look good in bright sun. If you're thinking about using a camera with it, 15x is about f22 and 60x (if you could focus it) has got to be about f50 to f60. You can't take a photo with that!

If you have no choice but to buy a cheap scope, don't buy this one. Buy a Barska or NcStar and at least you have a porro prism, so you don't get near as much purple fringing.
