Some manufacturers sell a spotting scope's body and eyepiece separately, allowing for the choice of zoom magnification or fixed power. A 15-45x or 20-60x zoom eyepiece is generally the first choice for customers. Some choose a fixed power eyepiece for its wider field of view. Both Leica spotting scopes and Swarovski spotting scopes have wide angle zoom eyepieces available.
