Just what Vortex needed - 07/28/2015

by Steve from SF. Bay Area

These cases are just what Vortex needed to bring out. The ones which come with the scopes are just about useless. In fact they get in the way when you are using your scope. These new cases fit the scopes well and keep it protected. They are fairly easy to put on and once on really no need to take off. Vortex should do away with the old cases and supply these cases with scopes as part of original purchase and if they need to raise the price of the scope a little it will still be more than worth it. As for the scopes themselves they are hard to beat and I would compare them to any more expensive scope as being just as good for half the price. Way to go Vortex!

What choice do I have? - 04/28/2014

I bought this case because it was the only one available. The case provided with the scope isn't a case I would want to use in the field.
This case was extremely difficult to put on the scope and I don't I look forward to taking it off if it ever becomes necessary.
Improvements that would be good besides making it a better fit, would to have a cover for the focus and a redesign of the way the eyepiece cap attaches to the case. The plastic clips are attached on the inside of the cap and so they scrape the eyepiece when you take the cap off. I've removed the clips and resewn them onto the outside of the cap. Not ideal but better for the eyepiece.
I wish there was a better alternative.
