I purchased this scope as I needed something to carry with me on hikes and out in the kayak.
I received it today and checked it out.
For the price I paid and the brand name (Minox) I expected a high quality piece of optical engineering. I am not disappointed. This little unit is really well made! The optics are first rate.
The focus is firm but not too tight. The eye relief is good with glasses and great with the naked eye. The eye cup pops up to just the right extension.
The optical quality is exceptional. It is also quite bright.
With glass on you just press the retracted eye piece on to the lens of the glasses and focus.
With out glasses, extend the eye cup and you rest the unit on the side of your nose and focus.
You will need two hands to operate the unit. One to hold it one to focus the thing. It has a tripod mount on the lower tube for times you want to use a mono or tripod . This is a light weight unit and vibration is a factor.
It comes with no lens caps. Which is surprising for the cost and quality of the instrument. You would think that Minox would like to protect the optic. Being the master of Mickey Mouse. I just cut a 35mm film container down to 1/4" and it fit over the eye piece like a glove. The objective lens was another mater as it is incorporated with the focus ring. I measured the diameter of the ring and came up with 45mm, so I ordered a lens cover with that inner diameter. I am awaiting its arrival and hope it works.
The bag that comes with the unit is lacking. It is almost too small and offers little protection.
I plan to go shopping with the unit and find a small "point and shoot" case that should fit. I'd like to wear the thing on my belt. Although it does fit nicely in most pockets.
If you are into nature. This is a tool that you should get. It can be with you most all the time and it allows for quick deployment. Although not completely intuitive to operate it is relatively simple and you'll get used to its operation quickly.

This is a great little Minoscope and easy to carry with you on walks where binoculars would be to much to deal with. The 8x25 is a nice size. It is very clear and easy to focus.

I like the monocular very much even though it's difficult after years of using binoculars to change old habits! Very clear viewing, light-weight, easy to carry in ones pocket. A lens cap would have been a nice addition.
The only negative is the case that comes with the item. It is just barely large enough to hold the minoscope. If the makers would broaden and lengthen the case, it would be much more satisfactory.

Very good would recommend to anyone & friends, the bag could be a be deeper so as to protect the lens.Very clear optics easy to focus & comfortable to hold. Will recommend & use Eagle Optics again in future.
I wish I had one years ago

This unit is perfect for my needs due to my poor vision. I can take it to museums and read the exhibit notes, which are generally written in too small a font, and I can use it at work to read the PowerPoint slides in meetings.
I just wish I had had one during my years in college & grad school where the black board was always too far away to read. I had to struggle with low quality, narrow field binoculars that wouldn't focus closer than30 feet.
The unit seems to be at a level of quality that I can't imagine could be surpassed - for non technical uses.
Eagle had the best price as well. The order was processed and received very quickly.

As a student I ran a survey team and became used to looking through a single scope.
Even when handed a binocular I would use one side as the holder and look only through the one lens.
I've had a prism monocular for some time and upgraded with the Minoscope. I like it as it has the shorter length enabled by the prisms and it feels right in the hand.
The quality of the instrument is good and I like the feature of the adjustable eye-piece.
