This light goes from a very dim night sight saver to darn near daylight. As a Photographer, bicyclist, night time bbq-er, camper and sailor this light is the most versatile I have ever owned. It can go from just enough light to find your way without torching your night vision to flooding a site for any setup or tedious recovery of small items dropped in tall grass
