Swarovski takes its universal camera adapter to a whole new level as it accepts most point-and-shoot digital cameras, a digital SLR camera with a fixed 50mm camera lens, or the kit zoom lens that came with your DSLR. At only 12 ounces, the UCA provides an amazingly secure and stable way to attach a camera to the zoom eyepiece of your Swarovski ATM, STM, ATS, and STS spotting scope.
Tips for Success with the UCA
- The UCA only fits on the Swarovski 25-50x eyepiece and the 20-60x eyepiece with the new-style eyecup (available from Swarovski).
- When using a point-and-shoot digital camera, a 3-4x optical zoom works best to eliminate vignetting on the 20-60x eyepiece.
- The 25-50x eyepiece is a little more forgiving about vignetting than the 20-60x eyepiece and will work with some 5x optical zoom cameras, especially if the eyepiece is set at 30x.
- When using a DSLR camera, you will need a fixed 50mm lens for digiscoping.

Once you set this up for your particular camera, you can easily remove and install the unit on the scope eyepiece in just a few seconds. The only better bracket would be the DCA (digital camera adapter) which flips down instead of sliding off.
Of course its Swarovski so it is not cheap. But you get very nice quality and features for your investment. I like the quick release to remove the camera from the adapter.

Recently purchased the Swarovski UCA adapter to pair my scope with my little Flip Video. It barely fit; it was a bit tall, but by removing the bottom slide stopper I was able to line it up perfectly. The videos I'm taking are great fun!
I'm able to capture the antics and behavior of the backyard birds full screen and in excellent focus. At the wetlands, I'm able to pull action from quite a distance.
You have to be realistic about your expectations, and the further away the bird, the more difficult it is to focus the scope to the level of sharpness you desire, but it has opened up a new world of "birds in action" for me.
With the adapter on, I'm unable to use the scope independently, but removing and replacing the adapter with the FlipVideo still attached is reasonably quick.
