Beginning with a section describing each bird family, the main part of the guide is devoted to providing a brief overview, range map, and illustration of nearly 1,300 species of non-passerine birds—presented in an easy-to-use format. Color illustrations show variations in male, female, and juvenile plumage along with flight patterns for selected species.
