Zeiss 8x42 binoculars - 06/09/2011

by J. from Boone, NC

I ordered my Zeiss binocs by phone and the binoculars arrived the next day. Excellent service and I'm very pleased with the purchase. I definitely would recommend anyone doing business with Eagle Optics. Fast, courteous service.

Wow - 11/23/2010

by Robin from Balsam Lake, Wisconsin

Forty-five years of experience using binoculars and these are the best I have owned. The clarity of resolution allows me to pick out a mallard at one mile. They seem to spin too long for focusing but the jump from my previous $300 pair of binoculars was worth it. I like the attached dust covers - I have lost - and found - many over the years. These may be my last pair of binoculars. I will certainly never buy a lower quality pair again. Sorry I cannot compare it to the other glasses in its class.

love new binocular - 08/10/2010

all seems as advertized. Although I previously had a 10*42 from another manufacturer these 8*42 seem clearer and better.

Best of the Big Three - 03/20/2010

by Dave Crehore from Green Bay WI

I bought my Zeiss Victory FL 8X42 binoculars as a retirement present to myself a couple of years ago. As luck would have it, I was able to make outdoor, side-by-side comparisons of the Zeiss with the comparable Leica and Swarovski models before buying -- same time, same place, same lighting conditions. All three were good, of course, but to my eyes the Zeiss had the edge in brightness, sharpness and color quality. The Zeiss also had better eyecups and eye relief, although that judgement is subjective. The field of view and near focus of the Zeiss are also superior,as is the speed and "weight" of the focus mechanism. For an all-around birding binocular, the 8X42 Victory FL is beyond compare.

With one exception: I still believe that for woodland birding and other close viewing situations that require the greatest possible depth of field, field of view and low-light performance, the good ol' Zeiss ClassiC 7X42s are the ultimate, and feel better in the hands than any other binocular I have ever owned or tried. I'm glad I got the Victories, but I'm also glad I kept the ClassiCs.

Worth every penny - 07/21/2009

by Nate from Chapel HIll, NC

Not only are the binoculars every bit as good as advertised, but they're incredibly durable as well, a fact I found out when they fell off the roof of my car with no damage to the optics or alignment.

Incidentally, should you need to use it, Zeiss customer service is top notch too...

EXCELLENT!!!!!! - 07/15/2009

by Kaaren A Zvonik from Guam

I did a lot of research for binoculars on the internet as well as in birding magazines before I made my selection. I was extremely pleased with my choice of Zeiss 10x42. The clarity, close focus and the field of view is excellent.
I also found Eagle Optics had the best price and service. I live in Guam and all the other online sites wanted to charge international shipping rates.
Thank you EAGLE OPTICS. EXCELLENT products, EXCELLENT Service!!!!!!!!

Superb Binoculars - 01/27/2009

by Jack Rothman from City Island

I bought these binoculars more than three years ago after trying most of the high end optics. They are incredibly bright, fast focusing and super sharp. The ergonomics have worked well for me too. I've probably birded with them three to four times a week since I bought them. I've dragged them through rainforests in Central America, torrential rain in Cape May and freezing cold in Canada. No matter what the season, they've worked flawlessly. For me,they were worth every penny I spent on them.
