Let me add my "Wow!" to these - 01/14/2012

by Laurie from Texas

Clear optics, comfortable ergonomics, light weight, all combine into a fantastic experience of these binoculars. I had been using Vortex Viper 10x42 for 4 years and really enjoying that experience when I was given these as a gift. I just didn't know what I was missing. These are high end binoculars for a reason. When comparing the two side-by-side, I am able to see colors and details through the Zeiss that are not visible with the Vortex. I can't recommend these highly enough.

Superb Binoculars - 12/25/2011

by Brock from Black Hills, SD

I have 3 other pairs of binoculars, but these are easily the best.

The day after I got them I took these binoculars to an overlook at approx. 5500ft. elevation to look out over the prairie. Despite some haze in the distance, I could see a good 30 miles or more (up to 50?) and pick out details in the landscape. Several times I've looked at Jupiter and when the conditions were right I could see all 4 of its major moons as dots around its disk.

At night I've also been able to see objects that were not visible to the naked eye, such as several elk. In the daytime they show distant objects clearly and allow me to pick out details. I haven't taken them hunting or birding yet, but I'm confident they will do a superb job in both cases.

birding binos - 11/22/2011

by david from ca

I'm a near sighted old birder with eyes chockablock with floaters. My eyes are fairly (though not exceptionally) wide set. I needed binos that were very clear and bright to overcome the floaters and that worked well with my glasses so that I wouldn't have to keep pushing them back. I tried ALL the mid and high end binos and ended up with these. I still can't keep up with birders that can ID a peregrine with naked eyes at a mile but with these binos I can do better than most.

My selection algorithm was to start with mid range glasses and move up in price till I couldn't tell the difference any more. The 10x is important to me as is the fairly close near range focus. I wouldn't recommend 10x for someone with better eyes since it reduces the size of the field and magnifies hand shake, but with my crappy visual resolution, the extra magnification is wonderful, especially with the clarity and definition provided by the glass in these binos.

My wife (with much better and closer set eyes) uses Leica Ultravid HD 10x32. I find those excellent also, but the extra brightness with the Zeiss Victory makes a significant difference for me. She, on the other hand, finds mine hard to use with her closer set eyes.

My second Zeiss Victory 10x42 - 12/06/2010

by jorge from usa

Title should explain my review better. After losing my first pair of 'Zeiss Victory' last June in a trip, I could not think of owning any other brand (thought a while before paying 25% more on its new price). The other pair was bought 5 years ago and although I did not expect any optical improvement, I saw a clearer image with no color distortion in the new purchase. Still works as well by keeping its close focus, fast focusing, a light weight on my neck and the nearest views to perfect vision.

Zeiss is nice! - 05/11/2010

by David from NY

I have been very pleased with my Victory 10x42's. They very bright, clear, and comfortable. I've noticed that they don't fog up like swarovski's did. The eye cups take bit of getting used to. The only real problem was the price, Ouch! But I suppose all high binos are ridiculously expensive now.

Zeiss has produced a fantastic binocular - 03/29/2010

by Bob Hunter from Eagle Point, Oregon

I recently purchased the Zeiss 10x42 FL LT and have been very impressed. I use them mainly for birding. The detail and color is extraordinary even when viewing birds at a distance and in low light. The quick focus is really nice in tracking birds and goes from infinity to close up with minimal turning. I find them very comfortable to use and the eyecaps work really well with my eyeglasses.
It is by far the finest pair of binoculars I have ever owned and recommend them highly. Of course they are expensive, but I look at them as a glass I will not have any desire to replace during my lifetime.
