I was suprised to find that I did not notice much difference between my 10x Nikon in comparision to the 8x magnification on these. Focus is smooth. Optical quality is good. Field of view seemed to be a bit narrower than what I was expecting, but they are compact, so it is to be expected. I have played with the range finding recticle and it seems to be accurate. They are pricy, but I new the Vortex were built well.
