Perfect for Birding - 08/18/2010

starstarstarstarstar by Janet M. from Leavenworth, WA

I got my Vortex Vipers in March 2008 and so far they've been through 3 field seasons and 3 birding vacations. I work in the woods during the summer and they handle the day-to-day beating of field work well, better than the Celestron Noble which I had for 3 seasons before then.

I guide a few bird trips in the summer and one of my guests said after using mine that she was going to give her Swarovskis to her husband so she could buy herself a pair of these Vipers - lighter weight and closer focus for butterflies, without loss of clarity or light transmission.

The only complaint I have is that the little rubber 'dots' that give you the slightly sticky action when you screw up/down your eyecups can come loose and get in the threads. When this happens you can't adjust the eyecups. Not too hard to fix yourself if you have a very small screwdriver, but then the eyecups tend to wander back down and you have to glue the rubber eyecups back on. Overall an excellent investment.

Idaho Approved - 07/23/2010

These are the best binoculars that I have ever bought. I am slightly color blind but with these binoculars I have an easier time picking out the minute details in the terrain; they are so clear. I would recommend anyone that is serious about hunting Idaho to purchase the Vortex Vipers; they are awesome.

Vortex Viper Binocular - 07/21/2010

My husband was thrilled with these binoculars as a birthday gift while we were on a cruise. He immediately started locating wildlife on land days. He has lots of uses for them, but is mostly looking forward to using them to spot wild Mustang horses.
