I really like my new binoculars or binos.... My wife bought them for me for our 36th Anniversary. Boy was I surprised. I have shown them to several of my friends and they all want a pair of their own. Hoping to send business your way......
Vortex Talon HD 10x42 Binoculars

These replaced a 35 year old pair of Leitz 7x35's that got dropped too often, but had served me well for most of adult my life. It would have cost a few thousand dollars to replace those with the current equivalent. The Vortex is actually better in terms of fine detail and clarity of focus and allows a larger field of view. I could see each feather on the three golden eagles that were circling each other above a farm field that I watched few weeks ago. And the other day I saw a yellow variant of a house finch at our feeder and again the focus on detail was outstanding. My only complaint is the weight. I carry them everywhere, but can't just leave them hanging from my neck.

The Talon HD 10x42 is a very nice binocular with many high end features and a sturdy build. The image is very crisp in the center, but a bit fuzzy around the edges. I have been able to see details on birds that i wouldn't have seen with my old binoculars. They let in a lot of light and are great in low-light conditions. My main complaint is that the objective lenses are hard to get clean, even with a new microfiber cloth. I would recommend this binocular to a friend, but just warn them to not let the lenses get dirty.
Pretty nice pair!

Pros: Sharp and bright image. Comfortable design to hold, feels more natural in my hands than a design like the Viper. Thumb indents fit nicely. Close focus a plus. Seems well built.
Cons: Focus wheel is a bit stiff by comparison to others in this class. 1.8 rotations lock-to-lock. Focus wheel position requires index finger control rather than longer & stronger middle finger. I expect to lose site of moving birds because of this combined extra effort required which will be worse if you have short fingers and small hands like me. A roof prism design seems to accentuate any deficiency in this feature.
Great Price for Great binoculars

The clarity of these binoculars is just as good or better than sets that cost well over a thousand dollars. I would recommend these to anyone.

I purchased my Vortex Talon HD's at Christmas, and could not be happier with the binoculars or my experience with Eagle Optics. This is the first quality binocular I have owned, and having used friends Swarovski's, Leica's and Vortex Vipers, I'm extremely confident in my Talon's performance. They truly cannot be beat for the money. Their capability in extremely low light conditions is unbelievable. I would recommend these to anyone.
They are better than Swarovski
Tom from South Texas
I was able to compare this past weekend against the same stile Swarovski. The Talon was better in all categories. I think my friend might be buying a pair. Could not be happier. My wife took off down a sendreo looking at birds when I wanted to go hunting.
My guide wants a pair

I just got back from Colorado. Where my dad and i went elk and deer hunting. My dad and guide were impressed with the clarity and sharpness.I could not be happier and would recommend them to anyone.

Unpacked these great bins last week and immediately headed for the local birding patches. I had great 8.5x42s, but needed 10x for better closeups of warblers and to better see more distant waterfowl (which scoter is that?). The Talons are bright and crisp, with great resolution (eye ring or broken eye ring on that bird?) I got the Vortex binocular harness with them, and that really improves the comfort for the field... no weight on the neck like a standard strap might be. I'm a naturalist and bird walk leader, and these are the best bins for the price I've ever used.

Bought from Cabelas a couple weeks ago just before my Elk hunt in Idaho. I do a lot of walking and stalking while hunting Elk and it takes its toll on equipment to include binos. I can tell you that these glasses are awesome. I spotted more animals than I ever have and they stood up to the rough going in some thick timber. The only negatives are the end caps, which fell off in the first five minutes...luckily I found them and put them away in my pack for the rest of the hunt. My hunting partner has the Cabela Euros, and these optics are very close in quality, clarity and durability, about half the price. I would recommend these optics to anyone especially considering their outstanding warranty.

Heard about the Vortex Talon HD 10X42's from http://www.bestforhunting.com where they gave it a great review. Upon receiving the binoculars I realized how spot on they were. Very crisp, clear, and quality constructed. A very nice piece of equipment that will rival any of those high dollar brands.

I bought these binoculars for a trip with a birding friend and they are so much better than the other binoculars I have. A little heavy for me so the harness is great at distributing the weight on my shoulders rather than neck, although I can feel it when it's in my backpack along with my camera, GPS, water, etc. Easy to focus quickly.
I had some questions and customer service was EXCELLENT, too!
