Swarovski EL Swarovision binoculars are wonderful. I own both the 10x42 and 12x50. The vivid optics and close focus are remarkable. Swarovski ELs are certainly expensive, but you get what you pay for, and you only live once. Disclaimer: I never owned Ziess, Leica, Nikon or other high-end binoculars.
Cheap binoculars satisfied me before Swarovski and I never knew what I was missing. I paid $5 for 7-power Bushnells at a sidewalk sale and loved them for 20 years, before upgrading to $250 8-power binoculars. The decision to buy $2,000 Swarovski binoculars was difficult, having never tried them, and I justified the spending because I saved $500 by buying “Condition A” binoculars (used at product shows). Within minutes strapping on 10x42 Swarovski ELs, I was delighted and want to take them everywhere. I bought a second, larger 12x50 pair 18 months later in an extravagant moment.
I prefer the 10x42 if I owned only one binocular, because 10x42 optics are almost as good as the 12x50, but the 10x42 is lighter and smaller. The 10x42 just feels right in the hands and begs to accompany you like a loyal dog to the woods or river. I take my 10x42 binoculars hiking, kayaking, and on ten-day canoe camping trips to the Boundary Waters. When hiking, I stick one arm through the strap and let the binoculars hang under my armpit or behind my hip, so the binoculars don’t bounce against my chest.
The 12x50 provides a slightly better, crisper vision than the 10x42, because it accepts more light, but the 12x50 is heavier (35 versus 28 oz).
The only annoying Swarovski EL feature is the removable lens covers. The problem is the lens covers fall off too easily, e.g., remove the binoculars from a stuffed backpack a few times. These little plastic lens covers are expensive to replace. I like the lens covers, they hang loose by slender straps, and do not flop into the field of view, if only they did not fall off and get lost.

I was worried the 12x50's might be to heavy to hold steady but such wasn't the case. Their clarity is amazing and the magnification is just what I needed. I highly recommend the Swarovski 12x50 binoculars.

Swarovski is the best that i can come up with for viewing and spotting game.. I do a lot of coyote hunting and nothing compares, Buy a pair and you will never regret it.

I shopped for almost a year before making the decision to spend the extra $ to get the Swarovski EL Swarovision 12x50 binoculars. I probably looked through 50 different sets from different manufacturers. I kept trying to convince myself that these were not that much better than some others. In the end, I couldn't do it. Clarity of image and performance in low light situations are where these excel. If you can part with the bucks, either these or the Zeiss Victory are way out in front of the pack.

As the title says these binoculars are unbelievable. Everything about these binoculars has been engineered with quality and ergonomics in mind. I have owned all of the top brand binoculars and IMO are these are most comfortable binoculars on the market. The optical quality is incredible and extremely crisp. If you can get past the price tag you will be happy you did!

The Swarovski EL 12X50 Swarovision comes with a very hefty price tag so for a regular working class guy like myself, the decision to purchase was not easy. As you probably know there are several high end binoculars of German/Austrian manufacture as well as Nikons top model to consider and any one of them would provide excellent performance. Kudos to the Eagle Optics staff for helping me navigate through this process. When I finally decided to take the plunge and make the order it was shipped that day and was sitting on my dining room table the following after noon when I got home from work. Very impressive. If you are considering a binocular or spotting scope purchase I would recommend you give them a call as they are easy to talk to and very knowledgeable. My final decision came down to the 12x50 Leica Ultravid or the Swarovski equivalent. Unfortunately I could not locate any 12x50 Ultravids within reasonable driving distance to try out. I did however have the opportunity to try out the Swarovski 12x50 at the annual optics fest held at the Audubon Society. One key feature of this binocular is the remarkable eye relief. No need to take off my glasses and I get the full field of view. It also steadies very well which I would normally not expect for a 12 power binocular. One other thing that impressed me was the Swarovski representatives them self’s. There were two of them and they were very enthusiastic about their products and talked in detail about the company and the state of the art manufacturing facility in Austria as well as their distribution and service facility in the US. I guess no matter how much research you do and people you talk to the ultimate test is when you have them in your home and then can carefully compare them to your other binoculars. My best and favorite is a mid-priced binocular with ED glass which provides an excellent view and has that signature ED quality. I will admit I was very concerned that I would find that there wasn’t much difference in the quality of the view and then seriously regret having spent all that money. I am happy to report that this is not the case. The Swarovski is significantly better in all aspects and blew the doors off my other two non ED binoculars. In conclusion I am very pleased with this product. The Swarovski EL 50 is a joy to look through and is a superb optical instrument made with tremendous precision and care.
