Transformed My Archery Hunting and Nature Observation - 10/02/2014

by Reid from Michigan

Eagle Optics is the Real Deal, delivering on time, and well packaged.

I purchased these optics after a long trial and error period to balance three key attributes of my archery hunting optics:
- Weight,
- Overall Optical Performance, and
- Rangefinding.

Configurations I've Used in the past:
1) 8x30 Zeiss Conquest and Leica Range Finder
2) 8x30 Zeiss Conquest and Swarovski Rangefinder
3) 10x25 Leica Ultravid and Swarovski Rangefinder
4) Zeiss Victory 8x45 Rangefinder Binocular

and now the final scenario

5) 10x32 Swarovski EL and Small Ultralight Rangefinder 5.5 oz. from Redfield.

Verdict is #5 Scenario has Transformed My Archery Hunting and Nature Observation. The optical performance of the Swarovski 10x32 EL's stands apart in aiding in my Nature Observation. Although the competitive offerings from Leica and Zeiss were on Par optically (the Zeiss Victory FL's are really amazing), I chose the EL's as the one handed comfort when holding a bow in the other hand offered great stability. I will say my Zeiss Conquest are admirable, and the 10x25 Ultravid's are amazing for their size; nevertheless, the field of view, range, optical clarity, color, contrast, and eye relief offered by the 10x32 EL's sets them apart for all day viewing. While the other scenarios have their merit, I believe rangefinding technology is advancing much faster than lens/coating technology; therefore, embedding a rapid changing technology into an expensive pair of optics didn't seem logical any longer. Putting the money into the EL's gave me the edge optically, and the weight penalty was not significant. Moving to a much less expensive, lighter weight rangefinder did not leave me handicapped in my experience this past week in the Colorado Mountains Chasing Elk.

The EL's performed magically, CA is not noticeable for my eyes, and the low light performance aided me in picking out Elk in shadows on far off hill sides. The only area that I could hope for improvement is in the Flare I noticed when forced into positions where the sun was in my face (not an optimal position to spot from I know...but, sometimes you are forced into situations when hunting).

I don't think you cold possibly go wrong with either of the major competitive offerings (Victory FL's, or Ultravid's), and I can assure you the EL's will not disappoint, they may also increase your enjoyment in Nature Observation as they have for me.

Thanks Eagle Optics for Being Such a Trusted Source of High End Optics.

No regrets - 09/16/2014

by Ken B. from Arcata CA/Calgary AB

I ranked 120 (yes, 120) 10x binoculars on the basis of field of view, close focus, eye relief, and weight and this one (along with the Traveler version) came out miles ahead of anything else when all four specifications were combined. I was apprehensive about a 10x binocular with only a 32mm objective lens, but so far it doesn't seem to be a handicap. I really appreciate being able to hold and focus the binocular with one hand. I like the four-level eye relief (the intermediate levels work well with and without glasses) and the ratcheted diopter adjustment. I expect this to be the last binocular I ever purchase.

Fantastic Binoculars - 08/02/2014

by Eileen from Boston, Ma

I bought a "Demo" pair of binoculars. When I took them out of the box they looked brand new. Yes, they are light weight with exceptional technology and razor-sharp clarity. I love them they are absolutely wonderful!

Overall good optics - 06/24/2014

by N. Jones from Colorado

Recently ordered these 10x32 Swaro SV binos. Great glass, great color, definition, and contrast. They definitely had that "pop" that you look for in a top flight bino. Unfortunately, they were pretty tough to hold still enough for a pleasant viewing experience for me, and I felt like the exil pupil (known to be small as I ordered them) was just too small to get a good, easy, relaxed view from them. They were actually pretty good in low light considering the small exit pupil. They ultimately did not work out for me for my usage purposes. Thank you EO for having such a great return/exchange policy!!!

EL Swarovision 10x32 Bino for Birding - 02/08/2013

by Henry W. from Charlottesville, VA

I bought Swarovski EL Swarovision 10x32 Binoculars on line and received then promptly in the advertised time. I immediately took them to the Outer Banks of NC for three days of winter birding. They performed very well with smooth focussing and outstanding clarity, sharpness and brillance over the full field of view. Their light weight compared to my old B&L 10X35 was greatly appreciated. I was able to hold them steady over 8 hours of one-handed birding, sometime in high winds.

Best yet! - 09/04/2012

These blow away Leica HD and Zeiss Victory 10x32's. They are more bright and clear. Rolling ball is very minimal in these.

10x32 SV's - 08/19/2012

by John from Las Vegas, NV

After spending hours with the 8.5x42 SV's and falling in love with the incredible view through them, I had an opportunity to use the new 8x32 SV for a few minutes - excellent, and they felt perfect in my hands. Living in the open Southwest, I opted for the 10x32 SV's for a bit extra reach. I've had them for a few months now, and I like them more every time I pick them up. They are bright, tack sharp from edge to edge, and not a speck of CA.

I purchased the Eagle Optics soft case for 8x32's, it is much more convenient to carry on hikes than the super sized case the Swarovski comes with.

The beautiful view, relatively small size, and light weight make the Swarovski 10x32 SV's well worth the alpha cost.

Swarovski optics, with or without Swarovision, are superb! - 08/10/2012

by Ken from United States

My prior experience with high-end binoculars was with a Leica Geovid 8x42, whose optics are superb, meaning clear, bright, and with an excellent view. It served me well on many hunts since 2005 or so, for prairie dogs in South Dakota and pronghorn antelope in Wyoming. My father recently inherited it, because I decided to upgrade to the Swarovski 10x42 EL Range, though I purchased it through a different vendor. At the same time I decided that I also needed a non-rangefinding binocular that was more compact and lighter, and I opted for this one. I was teetering between the Travel version and the standard (green) version, and ended up choosing the latter, probably because of the traditional green Swarovski "look" that it embodies. My EL Range will be dedicated to hunting use, mainly due to its rangefinding capability, but this one is being for everything else. I used this binocular on two recent trips, to Yosemite and to the Mount Shasta area. It served me extraordinarily well, and I couldn't ask for a better binocular. The field of view is stunning, as are its sharpness, clarity, and field of view. I also noticed what a difference Swarovision's field-flattening feature makes. What's more, it came loaded with accessories, meaning that nothing else is really needed for a lifetime of use and enjoyment. Also, Eagle Optics free next-day shipping was icing on the proverbial cake, which significantly upped the instant-gratification factor. The best way to summarize this purchase is that I snagged a world-class binocular from an excellent optic outfitter.

Fantastic - 05/05/2012

by Steve from San Ramon CA

Received a pair of these yesterday and have already taken them out birding. The one word which sums up my review is "Fantastic". Extremely bright, sharp throughout, light weight and on these the end covers stay on unlike the older EL model. I'm sure the 8x32's are great also but I like the 10 size for my eyes. Thanks Eagle Optics and thanks Lindsay for working with me to obtain these. Customer Service is what you call "customer service" when dealing with Eagle Optics.
