Nice mid-price binoculars - 10/16/2011

by ron from maine

Finally a nice set of binoculars that are in the mid-price range. I didn't want to spend $100 again (what i am using now), but was not sure i wanted to bump all the way up into the $2,000+ range either. I'm far too rough on my binoculars to spend that amount of cash. Anyway, the Pentaz DCF SP 10x50 have fit the bill perfectly. i prefer using 10X50's for the additional light they let in. The weight of this pair is fine - I use a harness not a neck strap. And the difference in the Pentax over my old 10 x 50s is notable. The birds almost look 3-D. crystal clear focus at great distances. Very happy with this purchase, and would recommend it to others interested in a mid-price set of binocs...
