Old Friend - 01/31/2012

I have had my Travelite's for maybe 20 years give or take. They have taken more backpacking and fishing trips than I can count, even though not waterproof. The optics are still bright and very crisp and clear. Ergonomically they are wonderful. Easy to hold, light, great in the eye. I only have one criticism and that was something I never realized until I owned other binoculars. The issue is the Field of View (FOV) is quite narrow. I have learned to really enjoy a wide FOV so now it's a little tunnel like looking down them. Other than that they get my highest rating.

These binocs are light! - 06/07/2011

I searched high and low for a really light, good pair of binoculars for the field survey I have to do this summer in Africa. After the earthquake in Japan a few months ago, it was rather difficult to find these Nikon Travelites in stock, but Eagle Optics had them.
The view on these is great, but the light weight is what makes them a really great buy. I strongly recommend them

Fantastic Bargain - 08/04/2010

I'm a big fan of little binoculars. I often combine birding and hiking, and I appreciate optics that won't weigh me down and take up little space in a daypack. The Travelite 8X25 is, in my opinion, the best compact porro on the market. The view is razor sharp across the field, and the focus mechanism is silky smooth. They are lighter in weight than most of the binoculars in their size class, but they still have a sturdy, durable feel. I don't know how Nikon is able to produce such a quality binocular at such a reasonable price.
