The binocular all my friends want to use - 07/01/2009

by Robb Larson from Bozeman, MT

These binos are simply amazing. Depth of field, sharpness, light gathering, and focus are all great. I've owned this bino (Superior E, same as the renamed Premier SE) for about 12 years, and its survived every antelope, elk, and deer hunting season since I bought them: they've been packed along on every backpacking trip, every camping trip, every road trip - and still the Nikons work as good as new. Supposedly these are not waterproof but I've had them in downpours (with lens cover only) and they've been fine. These are the binos all my friends ask to borrow when we're spotting animals, birds, or simply the view. From little Calliope hummingbirds at 6 feet to Elk on the distant ridges, the quality is as good as I've ever seen. Even my buddy with his Leicas likes the depth of field from the Nikon porro prism design better. Simply an exceptional product.

I bought these bino's back when they were called Superior E (at least 6 yrs ago). Eagle Optic recommended them to me based on what I was looking for. I couldn't be happier. The moment I put them in my hands I thought wow!! There perfect. They are so comfortable to hold, not very heavy, easy to focus, very bright optics and great in low light. Everyone who looks thru them are impressed. Only weak point is they aren't waterproof.
