Nikon Primo Premiers - 01/23/2013

by Ted from Delaware

First let me start by saying that I called Eagle optics no less then 4 times over the course of a month's time inquiring about many different binoculars. Each and every time the staff answered all my questions and never hurried me. They are extremely knowledgeble. I live in Delaware and great binos are nowhere to be found. I traveled to Maryland and checked out a pair of Zeiss 10x56 FL's and Swaro 12x50's. I loved the zeiss!
They where notably superior to the swarovski's which I never would have expected. The problem for me was spending so much
darn money. The weight did not matter as I am a professional wedding photographer for 27 years so carrying alot of heavy equipment for 8 hours plus is just a way of life. My wife bought me a pair of nikon premier 10x25's for Christmas and I was impressed with the optics, and looking at the specs compared to all the other compacts I would have to say they are superior to all others in their class. This made me interested in the Nikon premiers. After talking to Eagle optics and seeing that they had a pair of refurbs 10x42's and realizing that they had a 30 return policy I went ahead and ordered a pair. I received them on the 2nd day....Outstanding service! After receiving them and checking them out on all kinds of birds, I was amazed by the performance. I wear glasses and could not believe how much eye relief there is. Full field and then some! Flat field and sharp all the way to the edges and a superior focus wheel better then the swaro's and the zeiss....who would have thought that. The diopter adjustment is excellent as is the eyecup adjustments, holds exactly where you set them. Color rendition is spot on and they handle flare looking at things toward the sun extremely well. At the price I paid I could buy 3 zeiss or 4 swaro's !
Not taking anything away from the others at that price I just don't see that big a difference during daylight hours. I even took them to the hunting store in maryland and had them look through them and they were impressed too. These are an extremely great value!

I purchased these for personal use & in the monitoring/observing of birds/mammals for the National Park Service & Texas Audubon Society. They possess brilliance, clarity, & are light weight. The staff @ Eagle Optics is always helpful in offering product guidance/feedback on the technical aspects. I am pleased with the glasses & customer care!
