I was not only impressed with how fast my order was processed and delivered, but the product itself. The quality was far more exceptional than I had expected. I believe it was a good value when compared with other binoculars that I saw online.
I would certainly recommend this company and product.
Awesome for bird watching!

I am a new to bird watching hobbies and love the simplicity of these binoculars. They are not too heavy for me and do not feel like they are going to break on me. Great product- would highly recommend. My 20 month old has "tested" them out and they survived very well!
Total disappointment

I bought a pair of these primarily for spring turkey hunting in S. Texas. Encountered light rain the first day out. Kept the binoculars tucked inside my shirt, but they still fogged up almost immediately and were totally useless. A pair of lower priced 10X50 Simmons my wife was using never fogged and worked perfectly. Nikons were obviously not properly vacuum sealed, but when I contacted Nikon they refused to honor their 25-year warranty, even though the binoculars were brand new. A company contact said they were not guaranteed to be "water proof." I consider water proof to be submersible; not something that won't stand up to a couple of hours of humidity and light rain. I had always wanted a pair of Nikons, based on the company's reputation. Now, I will never buy anything from Nikon, and strongly advise others to avoid buying from them as well. The product proved to be shoddy, and the company's warranty was worthless. Know if you do buy them that the company refuses to stand behind its product.
You can't go wrong with these

These binoculars have been a joy to use. I bought them on the fly as "get me by" binoculars until I "shopped harder" and upgraded - but as I have used them in a variety of conditions I have come to love them. Primary use is birding in wooded settings - looking in trees - and focusing through thickets.
Why do I love them?
1. They are compact and feel good and solid in my hands.
2. The focus knob is smooth like butter. You can get where you need quickly yet the knob is so smooth that precise focusing is still EASY (and actually pleasurable).
3. Depth of field: there is so much depth of field with these that you will be in focus in a deep range of view - which is great for scanning trees front to back. This is a function of the lower magnification and quality of the optics.
4. Field of view: is very wide - you do not feel like you are looking through holes. Great for finding birds.
5. Brightness/clarity: crisp bright images - there is no dimming to remind you that you are looking through binoculars.
You don't really ever feel like you are looking through binoculars - and it isn't even like you have zoom vision either - it is actually just like BEING CLOSER. This makes the binoculars invisible to your viewing experience and this is what you want - so you can pay attention to what you are looking at and not what is in your hands.
For the price, these are amazing. I don't feel myself wanting for more binocular at all. You might disagree, but if you do you didn't waste much money in purchasing them. Nikon is a really good brand with a global presence which gives them an economy of scale - they are big enough to offer products like this at such reasonable prices. You really con't go wrong.
Best out of 4 tried!!

I have purchased both the current model and the previous model of these binoculars and have birded with both. I still bird with the previous model frequently. I would be very surprised if you could find better binoculars for less than $100.
Pros: The field of view is huge, 489ft., making finding birds easy -- very important for new birders. It's hard to have fun and enjoy the birds if you can't find them. 7 power is sufficient for birding most habitats in my opinion. For their size, they are relatively light weight and comfortable in the hand.
Cons: I must say the previous model is a better binocular than the current model. Perhaps it is just me, but the glass is simply clearer in the previous model. I notice more distortion at the edges of the glass when looking through the current model. (Yes, the lenses are clean.) The current model just doesn't feel as sturdy also.
If you're a new birder and ready to purchase your first binocular, I doubt you'll be disappointed with these. Affordable and decent quality. You can bird with these for a long time while saving up for a top shelf pair of binoculars. I've used mid-priced binoculars and did not find the quality of those dramatically better. I have a pair of top shelf Swarovski's and I still use my old Nikon Action 7x35s often as my backup bins.
