Aiming for performance at the highest level, the engineers at Minox created the high-grade HG binocular. Aspherical lenses enhance the contrast and sharpness of the image from edge to edge. A single turn of the focus knob brings you from close-up to infinity, and a scale on the focus wheel measures the distance to the subject in your view.

Too much CA for the price - 07/25/2015

by Duke from New Jersey

I checked these out along with a number of 8x32 binoculars. My conclusion is that these are excellent in nearly every respect but one. I do a lot of looking at white birds in bright sunlight against dark bluewater backgrounds, so I am very sensitive to Chromatic Aberration. Lacking the APO features of the uparaded HG model, these do not do an adequate job of reducing the color fringing one sees in such situations. A number of less expensive binoculars are much better. For example, the Vortex Viper HD, which is the equal of the HG in nearly every characteristic, but is about half the price.

This little Minox is a great binocular. Crystal clear, wide FOV.

Minox HG 8x33 - top notch optics - 07/05/2012

by Stan K from Canada

These are outstanding bins, I really like them. Robust construction, perfect feel and handling, but best of all they have outstanding optics. They have a wide view with sharpness right to the edges. Color and contrast are vivid. They just provide an overall great viewing experience. Helps that they have a lifetime warranty, but these are built so good they'll likely last a lifetime. I highly recommend these.

Minox HG33 BR binoculars - 05/01/2012

by C.O.S. from Cape May ,NJ

I purchased these as a pair of back-up binoculars because they easily fit in a jacket pocket and take up little space in carry-on luggage.I've had a pair of binoculars fog while on a birding trip and since then I've never gone afield without a spare pair. These are perfect in that role or would serve well as your primary optics. They are a quality product with good ergonomics,a sharp crisp image, and they do well when compared to similar binoculars from the big four.I have loaned mine to several people who ended up purchasing a pair.If you are looking for a pair of binoculars in this size range I think the Minox 8x33HG's deserve a serious look.I would buy them again and have since I gave my first pair to a friend.
