Awesome - 10/24/2014

by Suzanne A. from US

The binoculars are awesome! It is amazing to see blades of grass 1 mile away. This was a birthday gift for my husband. He loves them! The order came very quickly. Thank you. However, since we were unable to locate a tripod mount for this model that we knew would fit, my husband (being an Engineer) was able to design and fabricate a mount that screwed perfectly onto the binoculars and onto our tripod. Not seeing a tripod mount on your website that fit this model, we assume that you did not have one. If you are interested in any information regarding this mount, please feel free to contact me. Thank you again!

Good focus wheel but eye-relief not as lomg as hoped for. - 03/02/2013

Haven´t had them for long, but they are definitely sleek bins. When researching for my purchase, I came to these because the specs seemed to be what I was after: 10x, large field of view, and long eye-relief. I was hesitant, however, because there was no mention of them being "fully" multi-coated or phase corrected. Even so, there was a very positive review on the "bestbinocularreview" site, in which the reviewer compares them to other "benchmark" binoculars which, I suppose, are fully multicoated and phase corrected. I wondered, how could binoculars that are just multicoated be the same or even better than the others that have such lens and prism treatments? I don´t know. Notwithstanding, the proof of the pudding is in the eating. Hence, the proof of the binoculars is in the view and the view through these is very good. I am more impressed with these than the Diamondbacks. (which are similarily priced) Having said that, I´m not sure if I don´t enjoy the view through the Bushnell Legacy 8x42 (which I purchased at the same time) even more. A lot of reviewers speak of the "wow" factor when looking through a pair of binoculars they like. That´s what happens when I look through my bushnell legacy: "wow". Why, because they're a fraction of the price of my Minox, and yet, the view is amazing. I know, this review is not about Bushnell Legacy binoculars. If you buy the Minox, you will not want for anything; they are more compact that the Bushnells, undoubtedly more waterproof (up to 3 metres), have closer focus (around 5 feet), a much smoother focus wheel and a really sleek design.
Because the eye-relief was a little shorter than I hoped for, I decided I should return them. Eagle Optics was very accommodating. However, in the end, I decided to keep them. Sorry Eagle Optics, for being a nuisance.

You get what you pay for. - 02/15/2012

My son recommended the Minox BV binocular to me. I have never paid this much before for binoculars, I felt they were all basically the same. Believe me, they are not all the same. The Minox are the best that I have ever look thru. I use them for bird watching and archery. They are excellent for both uses. Would recommend them to everyone interested in getting their monies worth for a very good pair of binoculars. Also, Eagle Optics did a fantastic job of delivery in a very timely manner.
