Awesome Lifetime Purchase - 02/02/2014

by Texas Master Naturalist from San Antonio, TX

We, like many who have posted their reviews here, did a great deal of research before purchasing. The Meopta MeoStar 8x42 bins are worth every penny of the $800 spent (note: Eagle Optics matched a competitor's lower price without batting an eye). They definitely hold their own against the name Austrian/German optics which cost three times as much. We wear ours on a bino harness, and neither my wife or I have ever noticed their weight at all. They performed flawlessly during this year's Christmas Bird Count, and every birding field trip since. Crisp, clear and bright - especially during BMCT and EECT. You won't be disappointed.

Meopta 8x42 Binoculars - 01/08/2012

by Kirk from Central California

After much research (i.e. price and quality) I purchased the Meopta 8x42 binoculars. Originally I wanted the Swarovski bino's but the excessive cost prohibited me from purchasing them. I am very satisfied with the quality of the Meopta 8x42's and I saved over $1,600. These glasses are easy to adjust and visually very clear.

Meopta Meostar 8x42 - 11/15/2011

by Jason from San Diego

I did a tremendous amount of research and looked at several different binoculars before purchasing these.

The optics on these are fantastic and compare to other high end optics. Swarovski optics were slightly better but I could not justify paying 3 times the cost for only a marginal increase in picture.

If you are looking for a great set of binoculars at a great price, these are it.

European optics at half the price! - 02/03/2009

by Frank D from Eastern PA

I have had the privilege of owning these binoculars for about a year now. They offer an exceptionally bright, wide image with excellent edge sharpness and a flat field of view. The ergonomics are excellent as they fit my hand like a glove. Overall durability and construction are excellent and easily on par with optics costing twice as much.

The negatives? Well, they are a bit heavy at 30 oz and they do display some level of color fringing on high contrast objects around the outer edge of the image. Other than that I believe you truly have high end European optics at half the price.
