Interesting - 01/01/2015

Excellent value, compared against 3 other binocular in similar price range and higher. Glass is excellent, colors are vibrant, preferred to Vortex Razor HD, and Minox HG APO glass, almost on par with Leica Ultravid HD glass.

The handling and ergonomics are great. Takes a little to get use to, but the weight helps in steadying. Balance is nice and it fit nicely on the face. All personal preferences, but thought I'd mention.

Built like a tank, heavy too. Though the rubber rain guard cracked, and the rubber eyepieces started to turn on the eye piece assembly making it harder to quickly adjust eye piece assembly. It appeared the glue did not hold. This makes me question the quality.

But overall best value.

Optically good, but with poor accessaries - 07/03/2012

by Kevin from Maryland

The opitcal performance of these binoculars is very good. They provide crispy and clear images. Compared with my Swarovski EL, they are pretty much equal in almost everything except the image brightness in a low light situation. They may be able to compete with the old generation of EL, but are not as good as the new generation of EL in the low light. However, the new EL costs about 2.5 times of the Meopta product. But if you look for the absolute best, the new EL or SLC HD are the best in the market so far.
My major complain to Meopta products is the lens cover design and carry case as well as the strape. They are very poorly designed, and are difficult to use in the field. Unless you can find better replacement parts for those accessaries or just don't need them, I really can not recommend this product.
The twin brother of the Meostar 10x42 HD, Cabela's Euro HD 10x42, has a different body style and may has better designs. But I have not tried them yet.

I love these! - 03/29/2012

I got these from Cabelas (as the Cabela branded Meopta HD) and I absolutely LOVE them. They are equal to the top end Zeiss and Swarovskis. Unbelievable razor sharp edge to edge. True colors and built like a tank. What a great buy at this price.
