Great for the price, pretty - 09/30/2009

I'll just address points other reviewers did not:

-Eyepieces are good for this price range. Image is not perfectly sharp all the way to the field edge, but better than any other binoculars I have that cost under $600 (I have 10 binoculars, 8 under $600).

-The close-focus specification of 16 feet was the one thing I was worried about when ordering these, but it looks to me that the closest focus is actually about 9 or 10 feet. Maybe the calculated focus is at 16 feet, but in practice it is less. Probably the difference is due to the great depth of field given by the low power.

-Not the lightest binoculars in the world, but my petite 8-year-old daughter immediately commented that they were lighter than my 8 x 32 roof prism Bushnell Legends. She should be able to use them for a while without tiring.

-Even the strap is good: A bit stretchy and soft on your neck.

If these cost way over $200 I might give them fewer stars, but for the price, they are a slam-dunk. If they turn out to be truly waterproof, which I haven't tested yet, I'd say they are the first choice for any purpose except carrying in your shirt pocket.

Wonderful Bins - 08/31/2009

After reading many great reviews on the internet about the Yosemites I decided to purchase the red 6x30 binos. I can honestly say these are the best binoculars I own and would recommend them to anyone who appreciates optical quality and ruggedness. Everytime I use them I am always pleased with their wide field of view and razor sharpness!!
Superb for birding and even at night they drink in the starfields amazingly well!

Easy to Use - 08/17/2009

A very easy set of binoculars to use. The lower power gives a very wide field of view, great for my use. Finding an object is much easier than with binoculars with higher power.

Quality appears to be excellent for an import.

Highly Recommended!
