Stellar little binos! - 05/14/2013

by Joel B. from United States

These Leupold 10x25 binos are an excellent value. They're light enough to wear while all day hiking and not even notice them, yet the optics are crystal clear. I shopped around quite a bit and eventually landed on these little beauties.

WOW! What can I say the visual quality, the design, the price and the excellent service of Egal optics. I was looking for a good binos for a while, as college student of Environmental Science I spend good amount of time in the field, but without taking another loan!
These binos, answer it all. They are light weight, compact design fits into my backpack's rain fly pocket with no problem! Even now as I sit down in the library writing I got to use the binos looking at a Cooper's hawk feeding on a House finch! Also it is says it is 100% water prove (I didn't put it to test yet). I love the popping eye piece helps to keep the bino's size compact and at the same time comfortable to use.
Since these are 10X25 I would say they would fit better to people with some experience using binos.

great value for a great product!!! One of my professors already ordered one after trying mine!

tough lightweight bino - 04/17/2012

by Sean from Berkeley, CA

The Leupold Rogue 10X25 binocular is a very good value for the money. I have found them to have exceptional clarity and depth for such a small binocular, much better than any roof prism 10X25 bino I have looked through. The build is very sturdy and tough, as I have dropped them many times and they are still fine. One of the main drawbacks is the relatively small field of view, but what do you expect from a 10X25. Also the eyepieces could be more comfortable. Overall a great value and one of the first binos I pick up for long hikes.

Not a good view - 09/04/2011

I returned these. They have what I think of as the view of the old style of Leupold rifle scopes: poor coatings, yielding a lack of contrast and inadequate color saturation. Too, they have a focus that wanders indefinitely around dead on, and not from great depth of field either. Are the worth what they cost? Maybe, if you aren't fussy, but even then I doubt it. I bought the Vortex Diamond 12x50 instead.

Best Value! - 01/29/2011

My goal was to buy a good pair of binoculars mainly for hiking in the Rockies. My old pair were hard to focus. I decided to buy the Nikon Travelite 10X25. Before ordering them, I was in a sporting goods store and saw these Leupold Rogue 10x25. For 10 dollars more than the Nikons, I could have a waterproof and fogproof pair. It was a no-brainer! Easy to hold and focus. I love them and can't wait for the fall to take them to Colorado!

very pleased - 07/14/2010

I just purchased the leupold rogue 10x25 to replace my lost vortex spitfire binoculars. I could not recall whether my vortex were 8x25 or 10x25, but I wanted a good all-around pair that could be used for birding, wildlife viewing, backpacking. I decided that I wanted the magnification of a 10 and did a huge amount of research before buying the leupold. I was not disappointed after taking them on a recent backpacking trip. I really love the clarity and the ease of using the adjustments. I had hesitated on the weight but now feel that they are definitely worth the weight (just a bit more than my vortex had been) and the price. I am very very pleased.

Love these binoculars - 12/28/2009

These binoculars aren't the top of the line. By saying that, I'm not being critical of them at all. They're not a $1,000 set of binoculars. They're far more reasonably priced (Around $100), and durable as they come. I wouldn't dare drop a set of $1,000 full-sized binoculars and expect them to work. These work extremely well. I take them fishing with me, hunting, and keep them in my vehicle at all times.
For the price, you can't beat them!
