I purchased these for a trip to the Caribbean and a trip to the Galapagos later in the year. I wanted a quality optical product that was portable and rugged enough for the trips. These fit the bill. They're a fabulous product that feel and perform like quality. Two thumbs up.
great optics- horrible eye cups

Wonderful optics for the price but absolutely horrible eye cups. They will not stay in place. If you wear glasses and never extend the eye cups, I would highly recommend these binocs. But if you don't wear glasses ( and I don't) these binocs are nearly worthless. They have been an incredible waste of money for me. The eye cups will not stay locked in place after extending them. After walking only a short distance, nearly every time I raise them to my eyes the eye cups have "magically" changed their setting, usually one more than the other. After fiddling with them to get them set up again, the bird is long gone. A HORRIBLE design.

I've had these for a few months and go birding with them. They are pretty small, but are very well built. They may be too small for some men with large hands. You can focus on closer objects with these (unlike a lot of roof binos)which make them a well-rounded binocular. It is powerful enough for lots of uses and compact for travel and carrying all day. I'm pretty satisfied with these. They are very clear, but not as bright as my yosemite, but then again those are 6x30 hence the brighter image. I am really liking the Leupold optics, as I am very happy with both pairs I have.

Leupold katmais are a wonderful binocular in a small package. I love that I can carry them on my belt and have great viewing also. The optics are fantastic with good light gathering capabilities. These are my main binocs! I highly recommend these binocs esp. for their portability. They won't get as close as a spotting scope or more powerful binoculars, but for great performance in a small package they are the ones.

I had been looking for an all around pair of binoculars for travel, recreation, and bird watching for over ten years that were both reasonably priced, lightweight and easy for older eyes (with glasses). Eagle Optics had a number of pairs that seemed to fit the bill, to include the Leupold Katmai 6X32, 8X32 and the Eagle Optics Ranger SRT 8X42. I always felt that holding and using them was always the clincher and ordering on-line chancy, but after corresponding with Eagle Optics via email I decided to go ahead and order the Leupold 8X32s. I have now had them for over a year and could not be more pleased with them. They are a great pair of binoculars. I have taken them on trips and used them locally. I literally take them wherever I go. They are a great "fit" for me - easy to hold and adjust. They are everything I have always wanted in a pair of binoculars.

Really fabulous product. Small, solid and easy to grip. Both L and phase corrected. Big bino performance in a small easy to carry package. Hangs well from the neck and easy to focus. Preminum units.
