Compact Binocular - 02/08/2014

by Pam D. from So. Pasadena, Ca

Eagle Optics was terrific in making sure this little gem was delivered to a Fed Ex store for pick up. I like the compactness of the binocular. The center focusing ring is a little tight but not a big problem. I use this for birding while on walks and while traveling when I want to travel light.

Kudos to Eagle Optics and Leica - 07/27/2013

I love optics, having six pair purchased from EO over the last 20years. On the third try to find light binoculars to wear around my neck --hiking and bird watching, Eagle and Leica came through. Eagle was forgiving of my returns and went out of their way to find a better neck strap than came with the Leica 8x20s. The Leica's cry out "quality." I was concerned about the 20mm objective lens. However the glasses seem to collect light. They are indeed light and will serve well for a long time. Kudos to EO and Leica!

Leica - Indestructable binoculars - 04/01/2013

by Marcus K. from Port Elizabeth South Africa

I have had my Trinovids 10x25 for five years. I Don't go anywhere without them. They give the best vision I have seen in any glass. This weekend they fell under the wheels of a SUV on a concrete garage surface, without my knowledge. They were in the case when they were ridden over by the front wheels of the heavy car twice! When I got to recover them from this devastating misfortune, only to expect crushed lenses and destroyed barrels. I removed them from the soft case totally unharmed, except for slight paint damage on the strap link. I tested and examined them in every way and could not find any fault with them at all. No vision impairment at all! Had it not been for the car tire marks on the soft case I would have not known they had been ridden over! They are truly well made military binoculars. They still look like new!

best binos - 10/19/2011

I own 8x20 Zeiss, 8x20L trinovid, and 8x20 Swarovski and just had to try one of these Ultravids. Now I have to decide which of the others to get rid of.
I own large L&Z brands but these new ultras are going to be with me more than the larger ones now. These new ultravids are just without equal in my book.
You can see the difference in these, albeit they are all good these 8x20 ultravids are the best I've seen in my 25 years of owning german glass.
thanks again to Eagle Optics

This is a great little binocular! - 08/31/2009

by Russ Edmonds from Rosemount, Minnesota

I steadied my Leica 8X20 BCR on a tripod and pointed it at Jupiter the other night. I could see the disc of the planet clearly and could see the four Galilean Moons lined up to the right of the planet. The optics are excellent and the focus has a smooth, solid feel.

This is a great little binocular and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a pocket sized binocular.

Don't leave home without them! - 07/01/2009

by Daphne Hatch from San Anselmo, CA

I wanted a pair of binoculars that I could always have with me- in my purse, in my mini Camelback while road biking, in the backyard hammock. But I've had many pairs of mini-binoculars that just didn't measure up- lousy optics, easily mis-aligned, not durable.

The Leica Ultravid 8x20s have far exceeded my expectations! The optics are superb; they are rugged; they are compact; they go everywhere with me! For daytime birding at your fingertips wherever you are, these are the best!
