The best I've used - 02/11/2014

by Debbie from Georgia

I have used many binoculars for birding or hunting or general use, this pair seems to stay with me always. They are compact but still comfortable to hold..not too heavy either. The view through them is the best of all my binos...I don't feel I'm sacrificing anything due to the smaller size. I never go anywhere without these binos.

KOWA BD 8X32 - 08/04/2012

I HAVE USED ABOUT ALL THE HIGH END NAMES IN THE SPORTING OPTICS WORLD. THESE KOWA BD 8X32 ARE BY FAR THE BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK IVE SEEN. FOR JUST UNDER $500 THEY HAVE AMAZING CLARITY AND SHARPNESS. FUJINON FMTR-SX 8X30 COME IN SECOND ON MY LIST FOR BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK IN 8X BINOS ALSO JUST UNDER $500 BUT HARD TO FIND NEW. HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE

Very nice optics - 01/28/2012

by Jack from Washington

Bought these for my girlfriend who had never used a decent pair of binoculars, nor had she every had a pair adjusted for her eyes.
These are very nice binoculars, especially when you consider the price compared to the "alpha" binoculars such as, Leica, Swarovski and Zeiss.
Good brightness, clarity and handling characteristics. Focusing is a little stiff, but is still smooth.
Compared to my Zeiss Victory Fl 8x32 binoculars, the Kowas are not quite as bright or sharp, but the difference is not as great as the price difference would you lead you to believe.

Kowa BD 8x32 Binocular - 07/01/2009

Excellent binoculars!!!
I've had mine almost 3 years now and I'm still lovin' 'em. Less than 20oz makes them easy to hang around my neck all day. The ergonomics makes them very easy and pleasant to handle. The optics are bright and clear. They allow me to view endlessly with NO eyestrain. Not like some to when you are done viewing it feels like your eyes are being pulled out of your head. I can compare them to the Pentax DCF SP 10X43 and the Zeiss Victory 8X20. They are a great in between to the other two mentioned. They have much better resolution than the Zeiss 8X20. One day while view about a mile across a lake I saw some colors that were not natural to the surroundings. I first peered through the 8x20 and confirmed the unnatural colors but could not see detail. when I looked at it through the Kowa 8x32s I saw a dad, mom, by a tent with two little kids playing in the water.
Even thought the Pentax have great magnification and allow me to see further they are to big and heavy (when combined with enough stuff to last for a day's outing) to carry and use comfortably. The only other 8x32 I would consider are the Zeiss 8x32FL but since they are over $2000 I will stay within my budget without sacrificing quality.

As good as the best - 05/29/2009

This fine binocular rarely gets any acclaim. The build quality is as good as any top end Euro binoculars and the optics are bright with great contrast. I compared my Kowa with my high end Austrian 8x32 in early morning. Everything the top end could see so could the Kowa. Similar brightness and contrast. Truly even in every respect except the high price of the Austrian model. I highly recommend this binocular and no I do not work for Kowa. This binocular truly is that good.
