Five Stars PLUS for the money
Michael H. from Houston TX
My reviews take price into account. This is a very good bin and considering the $110 price, they exceed a five star rating. I agree with all the reviews. Compact, light, excellent focus and diopter function. Even at 10 power, these are easy to hold steady. Good eye relief. It seems the close focus is a bit closer than the advertised 13.1 feet, around 11 or 12 feet. Anti fog coatings work very well (I live in Houston, the toughest testing ground for anti fog performance on the planet). Although light for their size, the construction feels rock solid in the hand. The armor provides a nice grippy surface, not too sticky. Excellent view in bright light and good in low light.
Accessories are again excellent especially for the price point. One comment, not a criticism, the high quality tethered objective lens covers are a tiny bit loose fitting. So like many people you will probably want to remove these for use in the field and use them only for storage and transportation. Tethered ocular cover lens cover is top notch. Nice carry case with its own strap, a small separate zippered compartment and cleaning cloth. And the outstanding Eagle Optics bin carry strap is included. The manual is more detailed and helpful than any I have seen.
The tripod adapter is very accurately manufactured unlike many at this price point. While the FOV is a bit small it does not have the tunnel vision effect the way many smaller 10x do. If FOV is more important to you than magnification, the 8x42 would probably be better and would produce an even brighter image in both bright and lower light. An outstanding choice for a back up, to always have in your car, for a beginner or for anyone who wants an excellent roof prism bin in the $100 range.
Great value binoculars

Having previously bought a pair of Eagle Optics ED Rangers (10 x 42) for myself we were so impressed that we agreed to buy a second pair of less expensive binoculars for my wife and chose the Eagle Optics Shrike 10 x 42. Excellent choice.
Whilst we can tell the difference between the Rangers and the shrike (particularly on close focus) for approx 33% of the price they a stunning value and an excellent choice for a beginner or to just keep in the car. Comfortable and easy to use, they have a quality feel beyond most others in the price bracket. I would highly recommend.

I bought the Shrike bins for my wife as a Mother's Day gift. The light weight and the magnification were what she needed. She is absolutely thrilled with her new bins and uses them almost every day to watch birds at our backyard feeders.

This is the first binocular I have owned, and I could not be happier! The image clarity is sharp, clear, and beautiful. The magnification is superb and the focus wheel allows for clear images both near and very far away. I use this binocular for birdwatching and it is perfect in every way. The binocular has a very nice feel that is comfortable and durable. I would definitely recommend the Shrike 10x42 binocular to anyone who is looking for a strong binocular that produces very sharp and clear images while not breaking the bank! With this binocular I am set for years and cannot imagine needing anything more!
Could not be happier
Erik R. from Norwalk IowA
I recently purchased a pair of Eagle Optics Shrike 10 x 42 and I could not be happier. These are really great binoculars. I was recommended buy a friend to purchase these and he did not let me down. I bought them to use for birding and they are great. I have a friend who spent $300 on a pair of Nikon binoculars and he tried mine and he said my were better and I only spent $110. I also want to say that the service at Eagle optics was incredible. Their customer service is fantastic.
David from Texas
I found these binoculars to be very light weight and a crystal clear view. I am rather new to birding, but I found these to be perfect for field use. I will be taking them to High Island in a week and I am sure they will perform rather well.
Carol from Tillamook, Oregon
These binoculars are light, and provide good optics for the price. Not for children because magnification is too high, but excellent for fishing, hunting...other times when weather may be bad.
