Great Value for young birder - 12/03/2012

by Bonnie E. from Hidden Valley Lake, CA

I purchased this set for my granddaughter who will soon be 8 years old. I've been birding for about 15 years and followed in my aunt's footsteps. My granddaughter had expressed much interest in birds over the last couple of years, so I thought it was time to see how interested she really was.

When the set arrived, I checked them out and they were easy to focus and images were good for the money.

After I gave her the binoculars, we sited them for her and went to a nearby reserve to bird. She had a wonderful time and was able to adjust near and far focus and she was able to give me details of the birds we were looking at.

Her reading level isn't quite fluent with the guide, but she will grow into it soon. I enjoyed reading the guide, though all the bird species were not in the guide. All in all, I think this is a good value for the young beginning birder.
