Eagle Optics Denali 10x42 Roof Prism Binocular

I bought these to use on Safari and I was very pleased with the quality of the lenses. I would recommend for someone looking for a good quality binocular for a reasonable price.

I already own the Eagle Optics Denali 8x42 and have been very happy with them but with my lousy eyes I really need all the help I can get. So I went for the 10x42 pair for a paltry $10 more. What can I say? They are every bit as bright as the 8x but with the extra power I can see much more detail on birds that enable identification. The amount of adjustment with center ring to find my object is much less but I do not feel that I am sacrificing much depth of field at all. I am very pleased with these binoculars as I am not one to spend a lot of money on gear which I can then use for a birding trip. My wife is now thinking seriously of upgrading her 8x42 Denalí's as well.

We watched a herd of 27 elk in Colorado of all cows & calves; while 9 bulls in second group about 300 yards away. They all were on a ridge top; while we used my friend's Denalis. The Denalis were clear with great contrast in shade versus sunny ridge meadow. All 600 yards we could see very well in the shadows of the sun going down.

I have been pleased with the Denali binocs. All of the lens covers are attached so they don't get lost. The Denalis are lightweight and compact. Easy to carry around. The resolution/clarity of the images is outstanding!

I use these binoculars for my loon monitoring in the Adirondack park. I need to be at a distance but still need to be able to see if the loons are banded and if so what color the bands are. These work great, I could not ask for better performance from my binoculars.

Like all optics, you get what you pay for. A below $200 pair of binoculars will get you a better pair than a sub $100 but not as good as a $400. I have found that with optics, there is a sweet spot for what I do (birding) and that usually hits in the 400-500$ range with much over that being for the Donald Trumps of the world.

But for an average day birding...this Denali pair isn't all that bad. I would say this is a good beginning pair. Now I don't hunt and when you hunt for elk or deer...the creatures are a bit larger and you are looking to view for a different purpose than one who is birding. So...expectations differ. For birding, these are light enough, fit in your hands well...offer good view in close up situations and provide pretty good light all in all. Towards dusk or early morning when shades of gray more prevalent, I would say they lack just a bit but again for someone just starting out or as a second pair laying around these are excellent.

The center focus wheel is easy to use....the right eye diopter is stiff, yes...but really, you only really set it once anyhow and it is best to be stiff so there is no accidental manipulation of. I like the drop-down lens covers as they are attached and you are not going to be losing them as you walk. The feel is solid, rubber coated. The strap is just an average strap, many times I buy a separate one anyhow to replace to the ones that come with any binocular.

Clarity of focus is really good in the middle sweet spot, not so much on the sides. But, who cares...as you always center your object anyhow, right? As I mentioned earlier, ease of the focus wheel makes it easy to focus from different ranges, there is not a ton of turning of the focus wheel to obtain focus when changing ranges. This is a good feature. The focus wheel is easy to use, in the center and my fingers found it and easy manipulated without any issues. The case, is just a case.... The bino's are light so if you wanted you could easily travel with this. The size is about that of the nikon Monarch, unlike some of the Vortex ones I have which are larger.

All in all...I would suggest this pair as a beginning pair of bino's, perhaps a second pair for others to borrow..or like I use it as, a good 'car bino'..one that stays in my car and I use it as I drive around. A solid pair for $200, better than a Tasco by far and large, better than some of the Bushnell $100 pairs that are floating around as a beginning bino, but surely not as good in color, light and feel quality as a Vortex Talon, Razor or Nikon Monarch.

I took a pair of Eagle Optic's Denali 10x42 I borrowed & took 2 girls calling coyotes.
They worked earlier in the day & were extremely light just before sundown. Three shots from the .22-250 yields three yoldel dogs. We have three new hunters 2 girls, a little older version of the fore mentioned girls(mom) & dad beamed with pride.
Good equipment & spend time with patience thats what was used.

I’m really happy with these binoculars! All the previous reviews are true; this is nice pair of binoculars. The case and neck strap are top of the line. Good feel to them and crystal clear. I went to NC and looked at some waterfalls at least a 1/4mile away and could see the water droplets bounce off the rocks and view the rainbow mist. I hawk watch a lot and it really pulls them in. Only wish the FOV was wider.

I have used this pair for three weeks watching the movement of does & bucks on two ranches. They have preformed well early & late allowing me to pick out with ranch owners & the ranch managers the # to harvest(take).
Closer to the season we will watch more often with more people using them to observe deer & hogs for the youth hunts. The over supply of our hogs in Texas will yield more lean meat for these single mom's & their families.

The 10x42 Eagle Optics Denali Binoculars would enable me from telling a youth to shoot a nubbin buck or multiple pointed buck on a winter wheat field. These are good quality & should be used when not deer are present; yet a fox or bobcat sneaks along in perimeter grass. The youth seem to want to look at everything as it should be & the 10x42Denali would allow it.

As a naturalist and bird watcher, these binoculars are excellent in the field, have a great color perception and definition, are ideal for birds even in the most dense vegetation. In addttion are very light and the strap reduces the fatigue!

I purchased the Denali 10x42 binoculars as an upgrade to a pair of 8X35 Bushnells and they are a considerable improvement. They deliver a clear and bright view. The eyepiece and the tethered objective lens covers are a nice asset. The one thing that took some getting used to was the location of the central focusing ring, which is farther back than what I was used to. I would recommend these as a nice, lightweight binocuar at a reasonable price.

I borrowed a pair of Denali from a hunting guide for a mom(single mom). This was a first time hunt for both youth & mom. The binoculars were clear & served a good function right at dark. Youth took a doe & Texas overpopulation of hogs minus one.

Having compared the 10X42 Denali in the field to two other somewhat more costly 10X42 models (Eagle Rangers and Nikon Monarchs (not the new Monarch III), my impression is that they are well constructed and deliver solid optics. Neither the optics nor ease of use is quite up to the standard of the other referenced models, but IMO they are an excellent everyday binocular at a great value. My very informal field "tests" consisted of bird and wildlife observations at various distances, terrestrial observations - mountains, woods, dunes, and viewing of ships at sea and distant land objects across miles of water. The lesser optical quality manifested itself more in eye fatigue than perceived clarity or magnification differences, especially in lower light conditions. The center focus wheel was just acceptable, but the right eye diopter was very stiff and difficult to fine-adjust. Both these limitations may not be a factor for you if observations are brief and they are single user binoculars. Once you adjust your diopter, you may never or seldom need it again. I don't hesitate to recommend as value at this price, but suggest you make your own comparison. You can always pay more, mot may not need more.

The Denali 10x42 binoculars are fantastic. You can't beat the price and quality is very good. Lightweight and easy to focus- they are great for bird watching . I highly recommend them.
