They Were Right! - 06/05/2016

by Betty F. from Kerrville Texas

These binoculars are wonderful! All of the reviews praising them were right. They are not too heavy and the view in the lens is sharp and clear. Great product for the price. And yes, I would recommend this product.

Spectacular Binocular for Birding - 06/03/2016

by BJ from Michigan

I searched the web for the best affordable all-round birding binocular, and this was the one I found. Less expensive than its competitors, it reportedly performed better! I bought a pr fro my brother and then a pair for myself. I was very pleased with them, but after losing my first pair I ordered another from EO. I will give a critique of this binoc's features.

-In the Hand: Light weight and compact for a full-size binoc. Fit well in the hand. Comes with your choice of a neck-strap or a protective case I wear across my body. The focus knob is easy to turn and goes around two times from near to far focus, with much of the turning at the near distances. The eye relife allows me to use them with or without glasses, although I do not get the whole FOV with glasses.

-The Grand View: These are phase coated, allowing the smaller roof prism design to have the color quality of the old, blocky porros. This feature is designed to sync the different lengths of light. This is one of the least pricey full-sized binoculars with this feature. Color fringing is noticeable with very high contrast. Delivers a bright pleasing image, so that you can get an up-close look and forget you are using binoculars. 8X42 with fully multicoated optics delivers adequate details in deep, shaded forests. Near focus is good for close objects. Wide FOV makes locating and tracking birds easier (when without glasses).

-Bang for $: As I mentioned, the best I can find for observing nature. They most certainly beat anything else remotely in their price range in terms of performance. I might mention however, that they do not have as good a warranty as do some of Eagle Optics binos. But these do feel well-built and I do not expect them to fall apart as soon as other binos I have owned. I could not afford to carry anything more expensive in the field with me as I tend to lose and break stuff (as mentioned earlier) but have no desire to because I am so satisfied with the performance of the Celestron Nature DX 8X42!

If you are like me and trying to pick out the best pair of binos for birding that you can afford, I think you might have found them! They certainly did not win an award from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology for nothing!

Very Satisfied - 05/07/2016

Customer service was helpful and the binoculars were shipped immediately after my order. They are great and easy to use. They are also not too heavy. My dad also commented on how nice they are.

Zoom in on feeder birds - 04/08/2016

by Larry I. from Lexington, KY, USA

I'm a birder, and these are simply good solid binoculars. Clear, crisp images; easy focusing; twist-out eyecups; sturdy design. I'm especially impressed at their close-focus - I can zoom in on birds 6 ft away, and the image looks like birds in calendar pictures. Absolutely amazing.

Celestron Nature DX binoculars for a rough hike - 01/04/2016

by Ruth S. from Albion, MI

My nephew will be hiking with a group in Alaska this coming summer and needed binoculars. Based on past experience, I first checked things out at Eagle Optics. I chose the Celestron Nature DX binoculars because they provide suitable magnification [including reasonable close view], they are waterproof, they have a rugged exterior, and their optics were well reviewed. I am very pleased with my choice, my nephew is pleased, and nephew's Dad was impressed with the clarity/sharpness of images compared with other binoculars he has used.

Great performance and great value - 10/07/2015

by Franklin from Louisiana

We are so happy with our new Binoculars. They are great for bird watching. I can not believe how much I can see and how clear they are. We are ditching the other pair we have and getting a second pair of these.

Great Binocs for the money - 06/25/2015

by Anonymous from New York

Crisp clear view. You can tell that they aren't on the level of a pair of Nikon Monarchs but for the price you pay you can't beat it.

Great birding binoculars - 06/02/2015

by Jim from Reno, NV

My first pair of quality binoculars. Optics are crisp, easy to adjust focus, and works well with or without eye glasses. Rugged, waterproof and travel well. They're considerably better than what I expected for the price point. I'm pretty new to birding and regular use of binoculars, but I love these and doubt I'll ever feel the need to spend the money to "upgrade" to a more expensive pair. Great product.

My Dad helped me with my order and they came in the mail very quickly, the quality was excellent, and very clear when I took them out bird watching!

Lightweight and easy to handle - 03/04/2015

by Mary Jane from Portland, OR

The Celestron binoculars that I purchased as a birthday gift for my partner are better than I expected. They are easy to handle because they are lightweight and focus easily. We were both surprised at the clarity while out bird watching on a recent trip. The quality for dollars spent was outstanding. We would recommend them to our friends and more than likely will purchase a second pair for myself.

The only other comment is that a higher quality strap and directions for attaching them to the binocs would be helpful.

Great Image and Excellent Value - 01/22/2015

by Frank from Maryland

I recently bought these for my girlfriend for birding based on the reviews from Cornell's website. Prepared by the outstanding reviews, I was still amazed at the clear, bright image produced by these small, light and reasonably priced binoculars. They are perfect for beginners and can be used with or without eye glasses equally well. They would be especially suitable for young birders or women (or anyone) with petite frames (the other pair she was using were too big and the image in the barrels would not fuse into one viewing circle for her but these do); or anyone who wishes to have a small light travel or backup pair of good quality. If I hadn't already paid more for apparently equal quality bins a few years ago, I would seriously consider getting these myself. Some complained about the lens covers being difficult to remove but this is not the case for us (would rather have covers that do not pop off accidentally like some looser-fitting ones tend to do). I strongly agree with the other reviews that these are great bins at a great price. They also shipped and arrived very quickly.

She really liked them and appreciated the quality and performance.

Quality, General Purpose Binoculars. - 11/03/2014

by Wildlife Watcher from US

I have these Binoculars for bird watching and general wildlife watching. I am used to 10x magnification optics, but I don't really notice a difference with these 8x binoculars. 8x42 is a good balance of light and magnification. The image quality is very nice. Only issue being some yellow and blue color fringing. The color fringing may be an indication of the focus not being adjusted exactly right, because it is less or disappears as you adjust the focus carefully. These binoculars are small compared to some not-roof prism models. These binoculars seem to have great eye relief. Eye caps are easy to extend and twist back down. All the twisting parts and the hinge seem firm, the focus knob is not as stiff as some, but a little stiff. A nice group of accessories came with these binoculars, they were thoughtfully designed. I like the lens caps that can be popped off the lens and still hang on by a collar so you don't have to put them somewhere else. It came with both a neck strap and carrying case with shoulder strap and belt loop. I recommend using the lens caps and neck strap, or carrying case, when you take them with you for the day, but using both at one time makes them slow on the draw.

I think these binoculars are a wise purchase if you need decent binoculars.

My first Celestron Binocs. - 06/20/2014

by Russell E. from St. Clair County, MI

I decided to buy these on recommendation of Cornell University that these were the best binoc in it's price range. The Celestron Nature DX 8X42 so far seems more then satisfactory for the price though haven't used them much--as yet. So far I'm impressed with the features of this model ! Focus adjustment seems simple & strait--forward. Liking the military green color too.
