Lightweight and easy to handle
Mary Jane from Portland, OR
The Celestron binoculars that I purchased as a birthday gift for my partner are better than I expected. They are easy to handle because they are lightweight and focus easily. We were both surprised at the clarity while out bird watching on a recent trip. The quality for dollars spent was outstanding. We would recommend them to our friends and more than likely will purchase a second pair for myself.
The only other comment is that a higher quality strap and directions for attaching them to the binocs would be helpful.
Great Image and Excellent Value
Frank from Maryland
I recently bought these for my girlfriend for birding based on the reviews from Cornell's website. Prepared by the outstanding reviews, I was still amazed at the clear, bright image produced by these small, light and reasonably priced binoculars. They are perfect for beginners and can be used with or without eye glasses equally well. They would be especially suitable for young birders or women (or anyone) with petite frames (the other pair she was using were too big and the image in the barrels would not fuse into one viewing circle for her but these do); or anyone who wishes to have a small light travel or backup pair of good quality. If I hadn't already paid more for apparently equal quality bins a few years ago, I would seriously consider getting these myself. Some complained about the lens covers being difficult to remove but this is not the case for us (would rather have covers that do not pop off accidentally like some looser-fitting ones tend to do). I strongly agree with the other reviews that these are great bins at a great price. They also shipped and arrived very quickly.

My wife wanted a binocular with the characteristics that I bought for her.
She really liked them and appreciated the quality and performance.
Quality, General Purpose Binoculars.
Wildlife Watcher from US
I have these Binoculars for bird watching and general wildlife watching. I am used to 10x magnification optics, but I don't really notice a difference with these 8x binoculars. 8x42 is a good balance of light and magnification. The image quality is very nice. Only issue being some yellow and blue color fringing. The color fringing may be an indication of the focus not being adjusted exactly right, because it is less or disappears as you adjust the focus carefully. These binoculars are small compared to some not-roof prism models. These binoculars seem to have great eye relief. Eye caps are easy to extend and twist back down. All the twisting parts and the hinge seem firm, the focus knob is not as stiff as some, but a little stiff. A nice group of accessories came with these binoculars, they were thoughtfully designed. I like the lens caps that can be popped off the lens and still hang on by a collar so you don't have to put them somewhere else. It came with both a neck strap and carrying case with shoulder strap and belt loop. I recommend using the lens caps and neck strap, or carrying case, when you take them with you for the day, but using both at one time makes them slow on the draw.
I think these binoculars are a wise purchase if you need decent binoculars.
My first Celestron Binocs.

I decided to buy these on recommendation of Cornell University that these were the best binoc in it's price range. The Celestron Nature DX 8X42 so far seems more then satisfactory for the price though haven't used them much--as yet. So far I'm impressed with the features of this model ! Focus adjustment seems simple & strait--forward. Liking the military green color too.
