Absolute Top Ten Binoculars - 05/31/2013

by Martin from arlington heights, ill

Bushnell Legacy WP 8x42 binoculars are in my opinion in the top ten out of all binoculars on the market for their value. At less than $100 dollars the features they offer make them stand out:
-large field of view, at 430ft, over 8 deg. F.O.V, in my opinion an absolute must. (I would never buy binoculars that have a small F.O.V)
-they are very sharp, even tiny turn of the knob shows a change in focus.
-Porro prism design means they have an amazing depth of field, and 3D image effect, combined with large F.O.V it makes these binoculars very easy on the eyes.
-Very long eye relief, even with large and thick glasses i can catch the full field of view- simply amazing.
-Focuses down very close- in my case in the range of 9-12ft.

When you consider that they are shockproof, waterproof, and fog proof, the value is simply outstanding.

The weight to me is average, but the shape makes holding and using them very easy, i have to say i prefer porros over the roof prism design, especially the lightweight models.

Sharpness sweet spot is well over 1/2, i would say over 2/3 of the way to the edge. (I guess swarowski and leica are sharp to the edge, but at 10 to 15 times the price).

These binoculars are so sharp and bright, so easy to use with or without glasses, perfect for birdwatching, and on the water, i purchased vortex replacement thethered lens caps(VOCB42)fit perfect, and right now whenever i use these binoculars i feel i'm in optics heaven.

Binocular, Bushnell - 01/07/2013

by Marge W. from Niland, CA

The WP 8x42 Bushnell binoculars were given to us by our daughter and we love them! Often on cooler mornings we bird watch from withing our 5th wheel. We can clearly see birds moving toward the Salton Sea for feeding time or returning to roost. With out a doubt vision is perfect outside once the sun warms the low desert - our winter residence. The binoculars are relatively light in weight, important for those of us with arthritis in our hands. Would recommend these glasses for anyone wishing to enjoy the great out of doors close up and the price is right!

A Great Deal - 05/12/2009

by Jim Ryan from Saint Paul, MN

I bought these as an extra pair to keep in my car, as I am an avid birder and never want to be without binoculars!

For a beginning or intermediate birders main pair, I'd seriously consider these. They have most of the great features you would look for in a pair that is $100-200 more!

I am very impressed with the bright, crisp views, wide field of view and of course the quality of workmanship. If you decide to upgrade later, you'll be glad to keep these around as a spare pair or proudly pass them on.

Thanks Eagle Optics for such a bargain!
