Poor attention to body detail - 12/31/2010

    by Jason from Texas

The optical quality of these binoculars is excellent compared to other glass with a similar price. However, I am on my second pair and about to send it back to Brunton. The first pair had sharp edges around the attachment points for the neck sling and wore through the attaching cord, which caused a damaging fall to the ground. The damage incurred was covered by the Brunton warranty and they provided excellent service which satisfied me beyond expectation. Unfortunately, the replacement pair they sent me, a new pair, has a problem with the adjustable eye-cup and now I must send them back in for warranty repair. In both instances the quality of workmanship and attention to detail is to blame for the problem. If you enjoy good optical quality and excellent customer service, Brunton is wonderful, but keep a close eye on the exterior workmaship of your product. My next purchase will be with another company even if I must pay much more to get what I want.

    Brunton Eterna Binoculars - 02/25/2009

by Jerry Nyberg from Kalamazoo, MI

These are pretty good binoculars; however, they do not work all that well with my eye glasses. I can get by with them but they are not as good as my Nikon E Porros that are now discontinued. The Nikon Porros that I have are also sharper. Although,if it's wet outside, I use the Bruntons.
