Good value for the price. - 08/31/2012

I purchased these from a retailer other than Eagle Optics and they were sold as refurbs and had no warranty. When I received them they looked new but were stamped on one barrel that they were refurbished.I lead a number of nature walks so I added them to the loaner box that I maintain.Everyone that borrowed them liked them and several people asked how much they cost and where could they could get them. When I sent my Leica 8x42 Ultravids back for repairs and didn't get them back in time for a birding trip to Texas (it took over three months to fix a sticky balky focus wheel)I took the Bruntons on the tour and I was impressed. They have a bright crisp image under a variety of light and weather conditions.Ergonomically they were comfortable and felt natural in my hands and I even grew to like the little rubber knobs on the focus wheel. When the dioppter setting would not adjust upon my return from Texas I contacted Gerber(the current owners of Brunton)and told them what the problem was and explained that I had purchased them as refurbs.I explained that I had bought them knowing they had no warranty but I wanted them repaired and knew the repair's cost was on me .I sent them back and was very pleasantly surprised when they sent me a new pair with no charge to me.One can not ask for a company to back their product any better than that and if you are looking for binoculars in this price range they deserve your consideration.
