When weight is critical, keep your options open for long-distance viewing with this lightweight piece. With the Vortex Doubler you can double the magnification of any Vortex 32-50mm binocular and take in views similar to what you'd see through a spotting scope.
Very clear & works well with most binoculars.

This doubler is very clear works well with most binoculars and has a twist up eye cap. I have 4 different types of binoculars and it fits them, my 5th set are the vortex kaibab 15x56 HD (does not fit).
Better yet is the price.
as good as expected

this is a nice little doubler.
If you think this is going to replace a $500 or $1500 dollar spotting scope it will not. However it you want to be able to see twice the power it is very nice. I think if you do not have a spotting scope and need to see further its a great idea. Then save up another year for a spotting scope. Of course you half the exit pupil but if you have 10x42 you should be fine, 8x32 is still fine. I wouldn't go 12.5x42 and think you are going to see much after dusk. 20x is a bit shaky without a tripod (duh) but 16x should be steady. If you have an 8x42 or 8.5x50 just get it if you plan on looking far. Its about the size of 1 and 1/2 D batteries but weighs almost nothing. It has an adjustable eyecup to boot...
Not so good
James from Mayer, Az
I bought this doubler to go with the Vortex Kaibab 15x56 binoculars I purchased because it came up as an optional accessory when I ordered the binos. Add says it fits any Vortex binos over 32mm---wrong! It does not fit over the eyepiece of the Kaibabs. Just holding it up to the eyepiece and looking through, the optical quality in good lighting was very poor. Maybe it would have been better if it actually fit over the eyepiece as advertised. Might be ok for a pair of 8x or 10x vipers or razors? Had to rate it one star for my experience with it.
