Bushwackers have changed a bit
Michael from Brooklyn NY
I have used Bushwackers on my binocular objective ends for years, with full satisfaction. Latest ones have changed, and not in a good way for binoculars. The covers now open all the way back to try and lie flush with the tubes. This is good for a rifle scope, but bad for binoculars, because the open caps now interfere with your hands. Unfortunately, the only other choice seems to be Butler Creek caps, and these are not stretchy rubber like Bushwackers. If you get lucky with a precise fit on your particular binocular, they are fine, but it is trail and error. They don't give like the Bushwackers. I always liked Bushwackers for binoculars and Butler Creeks for rifle scopes, but Bushwacker seems to have tailored the new ones towards rifle scope use, where they previously were the better choice for binoculars. That leaves binocular users saying "Hmmm." They used to be better.
