Lens Coatings
Anti-reflection coatings allow a greater percent of the light rays to pass through the lenses.
Invest in optics with the highest quality anti-reflective lens coatings you can afford
The use of anti-reflective lens coatings will make a difference in image color, resolution, and contrast.
Anti-reflective coatings
Each time light strikes an uncoated glass surface, 4–5 percent of the light is reflected. The type and number of coatings applied to binocular or spotting scope lenses make a significant difference in light transmission and how brilliant the views will be.
Coated lenses |
Increase light transmission with a single anti-reflective coating on at least one lens surface. |
Multi-coated lenses |
Increase light transmission with a multiple anti-reflective coatings on at least one lens surface. |
Fully coated lenses |
Increase light transmission with a single anti-reflective coating on all air-to-glass lens surfaces. |
Fully multi-coated lenses |
Increase light transmission with multiple anti-reflective coatings on all air-to-glass surfaces. |
