Eye Relief and Eyecup Design
For better viewing when wearing eyeglasses, fold or twist down the eyecups.
Eye relief is the distance in millimeters between the ocular lens and where the image comes to focus and the entire field of view can be seen. Binoculars and spotting scopes with a minimum 15mm eye relief are important for eyeglass and sunglass wearers—or anyone using optics for an extended time.
Most binoculars and spotting scopes have either a folding or twisting eyecup design. In general, eyeglass wearers will want to use the eyecups in a folded or twisted down position.
