Historical charm

Imagine a warm day strolling on the streets of a community rich with well-preserved Victorian architecture. Using your binoculars to inspect the ornate details of arches, gables, and towers, you also see a Laughing Gull flying overhead. Make this scene come alive by visiting FeatherFest, an annual birding festival held in Galveston, Texas. Set on a beautiful barrier island and held in early April at this Gulf Coast location, FeatherFest presents the opportunity to view 200 bird species along the 32 miles of beach front.

A birder's shopping delight

Featherfest is based around Galveston's downtown National Historic Landmark District called The Strand. Save time to visit the Birders Bazaar, where you will find a representative from Eagle Optics ready to demonstrate a variety of binoculars, spotting scopes, and tripods.
