Burning Hawk to Save Others
On May 29, 2008, in California, a hawk perched on an electric power line met an untimely death via electrocution. The hawk caught fire, fell to the edge of a vineyard, and started a fire that burned two acres. This unfortunate event kindled a philanthropic mission to save millions of birds from a similar fate.
The publicity surrounding this accident set a group of concerned citizens on the fast track to creating the Burning Hawk philanthropic wine brand. In only three months, the development of two wines bearing the Burning Hawk label were ready for market. The Burning Hawk Napa Valley Red and Burning Hawk Chardonnay Alexander Valley wines are produced by Windsor Vineyards.
These fine wines are available for purchase online. Ten percent of the sales are pledged to help protect birds.
